You need to visit by boat. It is now far into the ocean but you can still see how majestic and interesting it was in the past.

This has changed over the last 30 years but a historical site none the less. There is a lot of history in these islands

An interesting site to visit showing the power of water and its effects on unusual construction on the tip of Cape Romano.

As part of a tour with Florida Adventures we stopped by Cape Romano. This is a site we have wanted to see for several years but hadn't been able to make it work until our trip this year. It was totally bizarre and as I said, we felt like we were in a Star Wars movie! This was a home... More

The Domes are worth checking out. Be very careful approaching by boat if you don't know the area. There are some columns near the domes that are submerged and they will tear up your boat if you hit them at high speed. Best bet is to take a wide loop and approach from the west. Don't get too close, especially... More

We've been visiting Cape Romano for years and it's amazing how there is no land left under the homes. The island is wonderful for shelling, bird watching, swimming, picnic, etc. Quiet place only accessible by boat.

Chris picked us up right on time at Caxambas Park Marina, very convenient, plenty of parking - turned out to be a private tour for my husband and I! The boat was clean and comfortable, the morning air was foggy and delicious as we entered the waterways of the thousand islands off Marco Island. We appreciated the history of Marco... More

What I can say about this is that the backstory of the structures is interesting, but the actual site is meh. There is no land left under the structures as it has been all washed away over time. The structures are in pretty sad shape, and will most likely not be around for long. If it's on your list to... More

We rented a boat and drove down to Cape Romano. Be careful the water is not very deep in that area. The house are know surrounded by water. Very cool looking.

This place was built as a vacation spot many years ago but the weather has taken a toll on the buildings. Only way to get there is by boat if bring small craft like canoes or kayaks with its very cool to explore you can drift into some buildings.
