We enjoy coming here with our friends and family from out of state. One thing I like about it, is, your can drive your car through the entire area, stop and get out of the car when you see wildlife. Every visit we have seen more then 1 alligator. Lots of birds too for bird watchers. Even a nice lookout... More

One of the best free activities to do in the area. Incredible views of wildlife in an immersive environment. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

As usual it did not lack for great bird photography. I spent 3 morning and one afternoon there this past week and loved every minute.

Having the wetlands in Brevard County is a real treat. Spend a few hours bird watching and see a few gators at no cost. Take a walk around the wetlands. You may want to ride your bike. There is a road the wetlands if you're in a hurry. Either way a good pair of binoculars will come in handy.

Birds, turtles and alligators galore in easy to walk or drive loops around the wetlands. Love going back frequently as the animals always change.

I live nearby and take my dog to the wetlands frequently during the cooler weather. Since it's wide open, cooler days are better for walking. I have seen gators, snakes, today, an otter, and many birds. I enjoy walking. If you walk the entire perimeter, it's about 2.25 miles, but you can take shorter walks as well. It's peaceful and... Loads of birds and we even saw a couple of alligators. It's a drive around the wetlands and you can pull off to get out and take photos. I will add some soon. As we were leaving an otter crossed the road! That was great to see.

This is relatively small, unpretentious yet extremely well maintained sanctuary with an amazingly large and diverse bird population. It is both walkable and driveable and presents excellent photographic opportunities for bird lovers. We went several times and were never disappointed.

You can always find gators. Even had one walk right across the road in front of our car. Must go well before sunset. Lots of birds. I would not recommend walking the gators can be right next to the road.
