I found this place by accident and I am glad I did. It is near town and simple to find. Well worth a visit or if your like us regular visits. It is a great place to drive, bike or walk through, quietly of course so as not to disturb the natural wild life that calls this place home. A... More

This wetland park is outstanding! The driving trails are well laid-out and there are plenty of chances to spend as much time as you want enjoying the wildlife. It is especially wonderful in the winter, when there are more birds. Don't miss it.

We found this place on trip advisor. It is amazing. We walked through, kind of a long walk. We saw many Egrets, cranes, and many other birds. Not really the best time to see unique birds. We saw several alligators close up. We heard all the noises of the wetlands. It was easy ground to walk on. Bring a camera... More

I've always known this wetlands as the Viera Wetlands, but no matter what you call it, I recommend it if you love birds. You are bound to see ibis, glossy ibis, caracaras, eagles, osprey, great blue herons, snowy egrets, great egrets, and more! Especially good in the spring. Also check out the retention pond outside of the wetlands near the... More

It's a great place to visit any time, but the winter months are better because of all the migrating birds. In January We walked along the wetlands and enjoyed the constant company of birds -- even eagles. In April we rode bikes and covered more ground. It was also enjoyable, with lots to see, but many of the birds had... More

while very simple, the wetlands offer excellent wildlife viewing with an incredible selection of birds, reptile, and a few mammal species. . You can either drive through, or, even better, talk a walk along the miles of trails, sit on a bench and bird-watch, or just appreciate the unsullied views. Please donate some cash in the box at the entrance,... More

Would have given this a 5 but the last time I was there that had stopped vehicle access and you had to walk through. Walking is not the way to see this. There are lots of gators walking and swimming around, not to mention snakes. I enjoyed many times driving through and seeing the wild life and if I chose... More

As a Melbourne resident, I've been here many times to show out-of-state visitors some alligators. I've also gone alone or with a friend to walk the dirt roads around the wetlands. It's quiet, peaceful, and you can be guaranteed to see several Florida native birds. I've never been there and not seen at least one alligator. They don't bother people,... More

Today, Sunday 7/24/16, we visited the wetlands. It was the least active visit ever, for us. There were few birds and we did see a several alligators. As hot as it is I think the birds were smart to lay low on a shady branch. Normally when we go it is not as hot and the birds are everywhere.
