The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU is the only Museum dedicated to telling the story of 250 years of Florida Jewish heritage, arts and culture. The museum is housed in two adjacent lovingly restored historic buildings, at 301 Washington Avenue on South Beach, that were once synagogues for Miami Beach's first Jewish congregation. The museum's focal point is its core exhibit, "MOSAIC: Jewish Life in Florida, 1763 to Present" and its temporary history and art exhibits that change periodically. A Collections and Research Center, several films, Timeline Wall of Jewish history, museum Store filled with unique items and Bessie's Bistro complete the experience for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Jewish Museum of Florida is a nice, albeit modest, look into the Jewish contribution to the development of Florida. There was a lot more history than I had expected. And there was an interesting temporary art exhibit that I could have spent more time...More

Took the 2 hour walking tour with Howard B. Very colorful -- visually/architecturally and stories -- about the impact of Jewish community on the State of Florida, with emphasis on S FL. Facts shared, like 1st Jewish US Senator was from FL. Covered prominent/notorious folks...More

Spent an hour here, which wasn't enough unfortunately. The exhibition has information on Jewish life, famous Jews in Florida and other items. Big thanks to our guide Jorge who walked us through the exhibition and was very interesting an animated!

The exhibits at the Jewish Museum are always interesting and informative. The permanent collection is comprehensive and Howard, the guide, is enthusiastic, and kind.

With a couple of spare hours, this museum gives a great insight into Jewish life in Miami and Miami Beach - worth a visit! Note the sloping floor, stained glass windows and the bimahs in the adjoining synagogues.

We came across this museum while walking through the neighborhood and decided to go in. The tour guide was excellent. The displays, housed in two former synagogues, are informative, enlightening, and nicely arranged. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Miami Beach.

Realistically traces the history of Miami beach and the enormous Jewish influence, population, and stories of Jews. Center of Jewish culture for many on and off the island. Film, and changing exhibits. Also, start of the "Jewish Miami Beach Tour,' which we did NOT take.

Stopped in to take a peek before boarding our cruise and was very pleasantly surprised. Had a personal guided tour and enjoyed the extensive exhibits. Well worth a quick visit, under two hours

Not sure about parking we did not have a car but it looks fairly uncongested in the area. There is a small entry fee.
