I have been here a couple of times before. This is a museum of design, rather than an art gallery. There are basically two floors to explore. The top floor presents temporary exhibitions and the lower floor holds the permanent collection. I wish they would re hang and mix up the permanent collection every now and then. However, that said,... More

We visited the museum after finding it online by searching for things to do while in Miami. I have an interest in the unique mechanical pieces they have and my wife enjoyed the fine art. The pictures give some examples of the holdings of the museum. This was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a gloomy... More

Firstly Friday aFriday 10 am visit and we were let in free, spending 3.5 hours there! Visited two main floors, the top with a temporary exhibition on the significance of the Swiss cheese plant ( and relatives) in fine and applied arts, and the changing main collection themed to tell a story of influences, with unusual British/French etc European pieces,... We went and spent some time looking at the exhibits at the museum. If you like social history of things such as TVs, radios and cookers ,then this is a small museum for you.

This is a hoarder's paradise! You can see many art works, statues, machines, architectural artifacts, odd-ball items that defy categories. Something for everyone and right there is South Beach

The Wolfsonian occupies a single floor in a FIU building in Miami Beach. We stopped in because it was on a list of "must-see" attractions. Do you absolutely HAVE to see the Wolfsonian? Maybe not, but it wasn't bad, either. There is an odd collection of works on display. We saw lots of paintings and artifacts from various Wolds Fairs.... More

The tour was very interesting, the guide was very knowledgeable, and there was time after the event tour to go back and revisit what you think you wanted to see more of.

This a museum dedicated to technology in the late 1800's thru about 1940. Quite a bit of Art Deco focus. Only the permanent exhibit was available on 2 floors, as the other floors were being prepared for other exhibits. We spent about 1-1/2 hours there, which could be more or less depending on your interest in the subject matter. They... More

Small - but very well curated. I visited when they only had their permanent exhibit up which was really great; it dealt with propaganda and technology from the turn of the century into WW2. The building is gorgeous as well and they have a cute little cafe/bookstore/gift shop. Apparently they also have happy hours here too. Would visit again

We enjoyed what we saw but just felt there was so little. We were in and out in under 30 minutes. It wasn't expensive but I still felt it wasn't worth it.
