Captain Ray and Wildlife expert, Robert were excellent hosts. We are Floridians and still learned some great new information riding with these two gentlemen! Great wildlife from Bald Eagles to Alligators and lots of others. Good working knowledge of the area and Ray even gave us some tips for studying for our captain's license which we anticipate taking classes for... More

I've taken the Dora Canal Cruise three times now with visiting relatives and it's always been a great way to introduce family and friends to beautiful central Florida!

THIS TRIP WAS SO COOL!!! We took our family to Disney for vacation this Christmas and one of the highlights of the trip was this Dora Canal Cruise. We are a family with a full mix of youngsters and teens, and I gotta say, not only did this cruise keep ALL the kids entertained, it was educational as well, and... More

Very pleasant way to spend the late afternoon / early evening. Lots to look at, and the sunset across the lake is really good. $20 well spent for a nice end to the day.

We went out for a sunset cruise in late December. Lots of birds, especially bald eagles visible for viewing....and the captains had binoculars they shared with everyone for ideal viewing. They were knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife and even had a suggestion for a great walking path just outside of downtown. They timed the sunset perfectly!

Boat held 18 people who paid $25/person for a one hour 6 PM cruise of the lake. One cup of hot cider and one cookie were the treats. The boat's sides were protected with plastic to cut down on the wind. Since it is December the cruise is in the dark to view Christmas lights on the shore. Biggest problem... More

We enjoyed the trip though at times it was hard to hear the Captain as he was explaining different attractions. Wish there would have been more conversation about who lives where around the lake. All in all, it was worth the price and was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend it for at least a one shot time while... More

We had some family visiting from Europe and wanted to take them to see some Florida wildlife in their natural habitat, so we booked a 2 hour Dora Canal cruise. Captain Ray and Rob the narrator show us a pair of nesting Bals Eagles that took flight just as we were leaving their area, what a sight to see these... More

Our group of six traveled to Mount Dora, FL to The Rusty Anchor. Our reservation was for the 2-3 hour boat tour through the Dora Canal. Capt. Ray Mathews and mate, Mike Clark provided information to us, the passengers, as we sailed along. History of the area, stories and surprises were all part of the tour. To hear about some... More
