Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a 13,000 acre Preserve. The Sanctuary is open daily from 7-5:30 with last admission at 4:30 pm. Visitors will find a gentle, pristine wilderness that dates back more than 500 years. A 2.25 mile boardwalk meanders through pine flatwoods, wet prairie, around a marsh and finally into the largest old growth Bald Cypress forest in North America. These impressive trees, relatives of the redwood, tower 130 feet into the sky and have a girth of 25 feet. Their massive branches are draped with mosses, lichens, bromeliads and ferns. The forest is also home to alligators, otters, white-tailed deer and red-bellied turtles. A wide variety of wading birds, songbirds, raptors and the fabulous Painted Bunting can be seen throughout the year. Photo opportunities are available at every turn of the boardwalk trail.

This was a wonderful outdoor activity when the weather was not quite warm enough for the beach, but not rainy. With the even and wide board walk, everyone can enjoy this outdoor activity. We spotted a variety of birds, snakes, alligators, spiders, raccoons and flowers....More

Can be a bit off the beaten path to get here, but a nice raised boardwalk through what would otherwise be a mucky mess. Birds? Well, perhaps if you get up early in the morning, at the right season, at the right moment. I belong...More

Very nice to walk. All on a board walk. Approximately 2.2 miles. Guided or self guided tours. Be sure to take sunscreen, water and binoculars.

This is a great place to get a snapshot of what it is like in the Everglades in the Naples area. It's about 20th 25 miles northeast of Naples city. Nice boardwalk, great wild life Viewing. Rosetta spoonbills and many more birds.

25 years ago we walked through Corkscrew Swamp and were amazed. It was like entering another world, one that is usually inaccessible because of standing water. But on raised walkways you can go where otherwise you could not and safely walk past gators, water moccasins,...More

Don't let my "title" scare you, but no longer than a year ago people walking the wooden, elevated walkways had the stunning experience of "almost" sharing the four foot wide walkway with a live panther (which quickly ran away from the humans the other way)!...More

We went here to view wildlife in southwest Florida and were not disappointed! We viewed some of the most beautiful birds I have ever seen!

The boardwalk was a nice way to visit eco systems otherwise inaccessible. Lots of information along the way - history, plant & animal info, explaining various areas, identifying plants & trees of significant importance. Very peaceful with the silence broken by various bird songs. Plenty...More

Yes, with supervision. The boardwalk has a railing throughout but as we've seen kids can sometimes overcome barriers if they're determined and not supervised. You might call the sanctuary for further guidance but I didn't... More
