Naples Backyard History Old Naples Museum showcases the history of the Tamiami Trail and the Big Cypress Preserve in the Everglades. Enjoy the aerial photography exhibit of "Naples Then and Now" telling the history of Naples from it's beginnings and the developemnet over the years to present day. Rediscover the Ancient Indian Canal short cut from the Bay to the Ocean. Authentic Seminole clothing displayed as well. Admission is free but donations are always welcomed and appreciated.

If you park (for free) beneath the Plaza when spending time in Olde Naples, you can stop upstairs to see the 5 exhibit rooms giving perspectives of Naples' growth over the years. The development of the Tamiami Trail, railroad history, the Calusas and Seminoles, the Everglades and Big Cypress, the effects of hurricanes, and more are shown through aerial photographs,... More

Thank you for your recent review of Naples Backyard History's Old Naples Museum. We hope it will encourage others to visit this step back in time. Our newest addition to the museum is a look at the Ancient Indian Canal which was dug as a short cut route to travel much quicker from the bay to the ocean. More
