Very nice beach but no shells at this time

The picture shows a bunch of shells, this is not always. Stormy weather before or high seas can help.

Our family comes here every year and loves the breathtaking views and shelling at Captiva Pass! The sunrises and sunsets are never disappointing and we intend to visit many more times in the years to come!

Perfect Perfect place for either fishing over the bridge or going to tan and lay out on the beach and watch the sunset and sunrise.

Is one of my favorite places to take visitors, as well and a place I love to go myself. The beach extends for quite a long way, the water has enough action to bring in shells but not beat you up like on the East Coast. Bring your own cooler with food and drink, and please pick up after yourself.... More

Like Redfish Pass, this waterway is deeper on the estuary (east) side, with the west (Gulf) side having several sand bars. Know your depths, have a gauge, or at least a navigational chart before venturing in this area with any speed. Boats near land were running wide open (8' of water), while a helicopter had landed on a shoal several... More

Spent wonderful hours going thru shells the ocean just kept bringing in!!!! MANY still "occupied", and I threw them back, but very lucky temps were good- the waves that brought them in drenched me, too!!

Especially around low tide or negative low tide, will be able to see shells, shells and the beach is great to walk around.

It is extremely famous in this region of Florida. You will find the sandbars, a bunch of them, many beautiful seashells get flung in this area, and it is oh, so relaxing. A must see.
