We stopped on our way heading to the Everglades. The campsite had a picnic table and fire ring. Bathrooms were very clean. We took several hikes. Both short but saw buzzards, herons, deer, raccoon and a couple of gators. Great place to see the stars.

Are there any light ordinances to keep the light pollution down? What kinds of flashlights can we use? Trailer lighting? Thanks

No special reqs at regular camp sites, but the astronomy pad sites request you keep lights low as much as possible. Check with ranger station for details.
Do you have an area for a large party to have a cookout? We would like to have a dinner cookout and after sunset, star gaze. Can we then exit the park around 8 or 9pm since we won't be camping and staying the night? (We have to catch early flight in West Palm Beach)

There is a large area with tables near the ranger's station but I'm not sure about staying after the gates close at sunset. Call Natalie in the office, she's awesome and can answer your questions.
Can we put up a tent, on either one of our equine sites, beside our RV or truck camper? We have sites 27 & 28.
