My son Peter loved it
Mar. 2021
My son Peter Drago, loved this place and he respected Edwin Rucks - went back several times, helped clean up the place - camped out and was planning on making him a new sign for his entrance.

If you go the Peter Drago on Youtube - you will see some of his videos that he produced while visiting

Tragically, Peter was killed by a drunk driver in North Carolina on April 7, 2021 while returning to NJ to help his grandmother - he was planning on returning the the mine to visit Edwin with the new sign

you will love it or hate it
Apr. 2021
I loved this place. Call two weeks before, then a week before, then two days before, then call when you get to the gate. Eddie will come out. This place looks abandoned, has no running water, has an entirely nonfunctional bathroom, has fairly aggressive bees, is hot, dirty, full of rocks and oddities, and is awesome. You need to bring your own food, water, tools, shade etc. You will find crystals, and if you're friendly and open, you'll have a great time with Eddie. Show some interest in any of his stuff and you'll have hours of stories.

Take off this app

Not even sure why this is on this app any longer. Stopped there today after reading a Visit Florida article. Very hard to find and once we did, no one around and place looks overgrown and abandoned. No one ever answered or text me back.

Best part of being a rock hound, Getting Dirty.
Jan. 2021 • Friends
Yes, People who are true rock hounds that come for a once in a lifetime experience, & don't mind working for your beautiful specimens will have a blast and find some beautiful fossil clams and other fossils. But remember your not going to the Ritz in Hawaii for a massage and foot rub. Your going to have unhappy people no matter where you go. And he chose to allow people this great experience, and it is a farm 1st the beautiful specimens an added bonus. So if you're not willing to work hard, get dirty, and enjoy your self this probably is not the place for you. The fossils and crystals are not going to dig themselves up and clean themselves up for your collection or for sale. You should be sun bathing in Hawii. NOT COMPLAING... 2/25/2021

CRYSTALS EVERYWHERE BUT THE OWNER IS THE TRUE GEM
Feb. 2021 • Friends
You guys if you understand what you’re going to do ( dig in mud for shiny rocks) you should NOT be expecting a pristine brand new bath room and a park , but there were soooo many gems! Opal, quartz, calcite , fossils. But the truest gem is the owner eddy rucks he is an amazing guy. So mind giving wise patient , he showed us his collection how to dig effectively gave us some stuff from his personal finds and has so many cool stories to share. A must go and you should enjoy some time with eddy!!

I give up on Rucks
Nov. 2020
I was going to Ft Pierce, I had tried calling Mr Ed few weeks ago and he tried to call me but could not get any of the conversation, connection was terrible. I drove by on Monday 11 16 and no one around, I left a note on the gate, I tried honking the horn, the gate was not locked but it was shut, I do not take it as permission to just go in.
I asked Mr. Ed to call me if he could that I would be in the area and would like to hunt on Wednesday as I headed back home. No return call, no return text or anything, so I did not bother to stop again. so this is my last go for this place.
The donkey did meet me at the gate but sorry to say I did not take any carrots that people suggested.
The risk to dig is up to you, good luck. I still wish there was another location to dig these crystals, as I am a rock hound.
Be sure and read all the reviews.
He does go to other fossil shows around the country.

Find a different place to crystal mine!

Not kid friendly, Not family friendly 😵🤚🏽.
NO, No more like pulling up to a scene out of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The person who let us in was arrested shortly after we arrived. We hesitated to stay, but we drove so far. After many attempts the water would not stay on for longer than a minute or 2. And don’t under any circumstance whatsoever ask to use the restroom. 🤢 your better off finding a spot in the 10 foot tall overgrown forest of weeds that surround the property. Oh and every now and then a Bull would walk out of the forest of weeds poop and keep walking 🤢. It was an experience, I’ll have to say.....🤷🏽

Little difficult to get ahold of the owner.

So, my husband and I went yesterday. Drove 3 hours to get there. Could not find the owner, was told to knock on his girlfriends house which is the second to last house. It was $60.00 an adult but he will work with ya on price.

If your looking for something different to do...
May 2020 • Family
I was in the area to go bass fishing with my son and was looking for something different to do while there. I read mixed reviews and decided to go for it. We have never done anything and are not rock fanatics.. since going I found out there are people who travel the states for such activities. We only planned on being there a few hours but you can be there all day. We did find some clams and rocks with pretty crystals.. the owner, Eddie, is a Colorful character...super funny and knowledgeable, definitely well schooled in geology. He generously shared a few of his precious finds with me and I was so appreciative. I brought my 13 year old who was not thrilled about being there but he had an OK time. As described, the place is not well maintained and don’t use the “bathroom “ unless you have to.. it’s an above ground port a pottie. You will get dirty, muddy and wet because you dig in rock piles and hose off the rocks to “reveal” what’s in them. There are fossils and crystals... he teaches you everything. I don’t think it’s something for little kids because it is work, luckily it was overcast when we went but I imagine it gets dangerously hot. The place was locked like people say but he came to gate when we called. I called the night before and the day of trip to be sure he’d be there. I’m glad we did it but once was enough for us.

Rock hounding!
Mar. 2020 • Family
So much fun!!!! Hard work! Well worth the trip! Eddie is a very nice guy! Showed us what to do and after gave us a personal tour of his collections. He’s a busy guy so allow him time to call you back and schedule when you can go there. It may take time so be patient! I went with my mom, aunt, and two girls!
