About
Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando. The sidewalk that circles the lake is 0.9 miles in length, making it easy for visitors to keep track of their walking or running distances. Other activities available to park visitors include renting swan-shaped paddle boats, feeding the live swans and other birds inhabiting the park, seeing a concert or a play in the Walt Disney Amphitheater, grabbing a bite to eat at Relax Grill on Lake Eola or relaxing amid beautiful flower beds and a spectacular view of Orlando's skyline. Parking is free on Eola Drive on the east side of the park and there is metered parking on Central Boulevard and Rosalind Avenue. There is also street parking in Eola Heights and Thornton Park, a two to five block walk to the park. You can also park in any of the garages within a few blocks of the park. These include the Post Parkside parking garage at Osceola Avenue and East Central Boulevard; the Paramount/Publix parking garage at Lake Avenue and East Central Boulevard; and the Library parking garage at 112 East Central Boulevard. Please note: swans can get sick eating bread and popcorn. Visitors to the park can feed them lettuce, spinach, duck food pellets or buy food from the new swan feeders.

- Bob SCincinnati, Ohio2,595 contributionsA Perfect Spot For A Stroll Around The LakeThe 1 mile paved trail around the lake is a nice way to spend some time alone or with others. A few restaurants offer food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Pet friendly and the ducks, geese and other winged critters are fun to watch. Highly recommended but finding a street parking spot can be hard on weekends.Visited January 2023Written January 5, 2023
- StarviageraFlorida2,115 contributionsNice stroll and good picturesIt needs a bit of maintenance since so many people use it. There were a few bums around; but for the most part families and people enjoying and feeding corn, that is for sale there to the birds. Nice to see that the birds are not given bread and other things that are not good for them.Visited March 2023Written March 28, 2023

Lovely place for a stroll day or night. During the day there are swan boat rentals and a nice lakeside bar. There’s also a Sundays farmers market.

Beautiful area in the concrete jingle of a major city. You can feel the calm of the country in a city environment. Worth a visit

This park is beautiful! Music is played from speakers throughout the park, there are lots of activities for all ages, and the walkways are tidy and go between shaded areas and sun. We tried out the swan pedal boats and were surprised how much we enjoyed it! You pay $15 per swan for 30mins (more than enough time to explore the lake). It doesn’t take too long to walk around the entire lake.
Pro: the atmosphere! The park calms you down and if you’re on a busy holiday or just want a place to wind down, it’s worth a visit.
Con: there are a few homeless people around the area, some of which badger quite a bit for money.
Tip: there are lots of free parking areas around the park, though paid parking options are available as well ($5).
Take away: worth a visit while in town!

Having been to Orlando many times over last 23 years, I only came across Lake Eola Park in 2022. 40 minute drive from my accommodation, but well worth it.
Walk round the lake 0.8 miles and things to see (swans, fountain, boat hire, somewhere to eat)

Street parking and there’s a decent amount of parking garages close by. I recommend the post parkside garage. Easy to get in and out of and it’s right across the street from the lake

Yes, plenty of free on the street parking all around the lake. Trying parking on Eola Drive on the Eastern edge, or there are 3 streets that run from the lake to the north with less traffic (Broadway Ave, Hillman Ave and Cathcart Ave)

I live locally and spend about 2 hours, walking around the lake, enjoying the day, stopping by the Farmer's Market on the weekend. I have seen other people using the playground, renting swan boats, taking photos & taking a tai chi class. It depends on how you plan to spend your time.

My husband and I are visiting Orlando next September and are keen to experience more than just the theme parks. Looking at reviews of Lake Ecola Park, it looks like somewhere we would enjoy visiting. Is there plenty of parking and is it signposted?
Many thanks

You really want to spend some time in the downtown Orlando/Winter Park area, in fact, allot a couple of days. The Orange County History Center is just a couple of blocks away, there is antique row on Orange Ave, Leu Gardens, one of my favorites, a couple of miles away, and the Morse museum and Winter Park boat tour, and all the lovely shopping and restaurants in Winter Park. The Virginia/Mills area just north of East Colonial Dr (SR 50) is where Leu Gardens is located, and there are a load of great restaurants, many of them Vietnamese. The Orlando Museum of Art and Menello Art Museum is a few blocks up Mills Ave. If you have any more questions on what to do in Orlando away from the theme parks, please ask. I LOVE my city and there is always something to do or see where the locals live, and we have many wonderful places to eat.
