Built in 1918, this area was upgraded by Mrs. Palmer of Palmer House fame. Enjoyed informative talk and tour of house and grounds with waterfront views. A good way to spend a leisurely afternoon walking these trails and learning about the area.

We spent about 3 hours here. There are volunteers throughout the park helping everywhere from visitors center to making sailboats. Very interesting history of Southwest Florida, I would not bring my grandchildren, they would be bored and would make for a long visit.

I constantly hear the term "Old Florida" and Spanish Point certainly falls in that category. The natural beauty is breathtaking. Tour guide Paul Fox made the history there come to life. I heartily recommend Spanish Point.

Happy to see that the archeological finds of ancient civilization has been preserved and is being studied. Tour guide added so many personal insights and knowledge of the history of Bertha Palmer from Chicago who changed the cattle ranching business in this area. Definitely need...More

Walked around historic Spanish Point instead of beach today. Lovely grounds. Can take walking tour or ride on cart. Staff and volunteers very knowledgeable offering interesting tidbits of information.

We missed hooking up with the guided tour or tram so we took a stroll on our own. I would advise doing the guided tour one way or the other, I think we missed out. Many of the buildings were not open so we just...More

We did not know anything about the history of old Florida. This place covers from 3000 BC to the 1980s! It is a great way to learn history and get in a good walk-although you can take a golf cart driven by one of the...More

Historic Spanish Point is a terrific place to take visitors from the frozen north, learn some things about our recently adopted state, and get some exercise as well. Grand views of the Bay, sunken gardens, well executed exhibit of prehistoric times including video, restored and...More

We had been to Historic Spanish Point for a brief visit, but did not see it all. This time we did the right thing and took the docent-led tram tour. Joan, our tour guide, was a hoot. She was well-prepared and down-to-earth. Lots of early...More

The tour is the best option. I have knee issues and some places were challenging.

everybody's answers are very accurate. My big tip is just read the signs. We drove past it at first but saw it. Definitely look for Historic Spanish Point, RIGHT after the Oaks neighborhood.
