So many great hiking trails through beautiful pine, hardwood hammock and Florida scrub habitat, and shady trail along South Creek. Great flowers and other plants and other wildlife. Great childrens learning center with knowledgeable naturalists. Canoe rentals and shady camping spots for tents or rvs.

We stayed in a number of Florida State Parks this winter and they were all wonderful. We loved Oscar Scherer for the proximity to beaches (Nokomis beach is only about 10 minutes away and Venice beach and pier is close as well) as well as...More

The camp ground is super nice and clean. The bath houses also nice and clean. The staff top notch. Nice walks and we had a great time kayaking the water ways.

Drove over from the other side of Florida to camp with our kids who came from Ft Myers. The park is just average , the sites are semi private with dirt no gravel or shell rock so it was dusty dirty. The bathhouses were old...More

This is a nice park for hiking. They have an area for some campers and lots of trails. There is an eagle nest blocked off for their privacy but you can visibly see when hiking on the outskirts. That is always fun to enjoy. There...More

We must have gone to five beaches with the furthest one being 30 minutes away from camp. It was December so we beach hopped.
