About
Fun on the farm, that describes the Florida Agricultural Museum. Visit our 1890 Florida Cracker home complete with rare heritage livestock (Cracker Cows, Cracker Horses and the Florida piney woods rooter hog). Chickens, ducks and a tame turkey greet our visitors before they depart on a tractor ride tour of the museum's historic farm buildings. Guided horseback riding is available by reservation. Horseback ride along beautiful trails over our 400 acre property or ride your horse over Interstate 95 on the "horses only" bridge to an adjoining 3000 acres of riding trails. Camping with or without your horse is available. You can also visit the Hewitt's Sawmill Archaeological Site located on a heavily treed 3/4 mile hiking trail. Discover the site of a water powered sawmill that operated from 1770 to 1813. We also rent Governor Caldwell's 5000 square foot diary barn for parties and wedding receptions. You can even get married lake side under a canopy trees. Everything at our museum is real. Not a plastic rock in the place. Come visit us and you will learn some Florida history and you might even carry home a free souvenir on your shoe. Your tour will last at lease an hour but the memories will last forever.

Trail Rides: This was my second ride in a month and I wish I could go EVERY week. Cheryl is wonderful - she’s friendly, on schedule, communicative and runs a great barn. The horses are well behaved, trusty steeds. She cares for them very well and it shows (no worn out hacks here). Well worth the money to ride comfortably through some of what’s left of old Fl scenic & preserved hammock (forest). First ride was one hour with Cheryl guiding, the second was for two hours with Jack guiding - both were perfect. Highly recommend.

My friends and I wanted to experience a horseback riding experience in the woods. Since this location is right next to Princess Place Preserve, we were able to ride through some beautiful areas. The leader, Cheryl, is excellent with matching ability level with the right horse and allowing an enjoyable experience overall.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Was looking for a different way to celebrate my upcoming 50th birthday. Have already had a lot of other great local experiences. This guided tour on horseback was the perfect choice. It’s good for beginner or experienced riders alike. An untouched pocket of our county that nicely contrasts all the building and development going on around us. Lots of scenery at a nice leisurely pace. And for it’s price, you are getting a lot for your money. Consider patronizing this non-profit that is doing its part to preserve Old Florida!

This ride was so much fun! The online reservation process was easy to do also. They have 450 beautiful acres. We went on the one hour ride and went through a small portion of their property but what we saw was so pretty. The horses are well mannered, clean and healthy. Our guide was very nice and helpful. We will definitely do this again.

I went to Florida Agricultural Museum on April 14, 2023 and had a wonderful time! The horses were well cared for; the facility, likewise, was kept up/clean. Jack, our leader on the ride was great. We ranged in age from 10 to 70...and he kept us and the horses all together.

A great time was had by all. You should try it too!

My husband & I took the 2 hour guided horseback trail ride. We had a choice of going to Princess Place Preserve or along the scenic Creek. We chose the creek as we frequently go into PPP. AWESOME. Great guide, fun horse (mine was Augie & my husbands was Dakota). Because of our experience, we were not only able to walk but was able to cantor & trot! This is open to ages 8 & over, whether you're experienced or not. TRY IT!

A serene, rhythmic swaying of my hips from the motion of the saddle; horse underneath, moving and breathing, almost as one. Leading the way on his own terms. Timeless journey, through woodlands and coastal. Relaxing, magical, mystical..
A lovely 2 hours away from all the hustle and bustle.
Relaxing..

What a fantastic experience!! My three teenage sons and I took the one-hour horseback riding tour in early March. We rode Kaleb, Moonshine, Auggie and Dexter, all lovely well-behaved horses. While the horses had their own personalities, they were a delight and we never felt afraid.

The trail was beautiful, traversing Old Florida forests, open pasture and a lovely wildlife bridge crossing above the interstate. We sauntered past wetlands with Cypress trees, historical sites and a myriad of farm critters. At one point we even startled a couple of wild deer!

Our guide, Cheryl, was amazing! She was a non-stop fount of information about the horses, the terrain and the history, and we enjoyed every bit. And at the end, she Air Dropped us photos and videos from the ride! I have taken trail rides around the U.S., and she was by far my favorite guide. A class act.

We can’t wait to ride again!
