Waupoos Estates Winery sits majestically on a gently sloping hillside...

Waupoos Estates Winery sits majestically on a gently sloping hillside overlooking Lake Ontario in beautiful Prince Edward County. The Winery offers an array of wines at the Tasting room, shopping in the Boutique and Dining in the full service Gazebo Restaurant. The first vineyards were planted in the mid 90's. The new vines were allowed time to mature. Proudly opening the doors to the public in 2001 with the first vintage.

I wrote this review in September and forgot to post it. Better late than never. Waupoos was not on our original list of wineries to visit but we have found that recommendations by locals tend to be more accurate than tourist board suggestions. Our Bed & Breakfast owners strongly recommended this one and we are delighted they did. Baco Noir... More

Waupoos Winery I would call the most picturesque, in the vineyard, on the big lake feel of just about any comparable dining/tasting local venue. Few, if any could compare. Pick a nice day and book ahead to it - it will fill your lungs with the best air and view of the County grapeyards. Large party tents, docks for visiting... More

It's no wonder this place is the oldest winery in Prince Edward County - it's a beauty. The wine is fantastic! Try the Reserve Chardonnay - The Knoll. It'll make you a believer ever if you're not a fan! Top shelf.

This winery is on the lake and offers a stunning setting for a glass of wine. They also have cider and beer! Grab a pint and wander down to the water on a sunny day.

We started with a wonderful nicely seasoned squash soup made with 3 varieties of squash grown on the farm. My husband had the salmon which was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the hearty beef stew. My sister had the pasta. The wine was from the estate, light & fresh. Our server was attentive & kept our water & wine glasses... More

My son and his now wife got engaged at this winery in September 2015 and decided to hold their wedding there in September 2016. Great location, food was good, service excellent. For smaller weddings (ours was 80 people) the location is great. The manager and staff could not do enough to make sure the event went off perfectly. Nothing to... More

Strolled into this stunning winery for a nights stay at the farm house across the street. Lovely room, stately farm house with detailed original wood throughout. Room #1 King bed and windows facing the winery and water. Beautiful, clean and comfortable. Morning coffee & warm fruit pastries. Awoke early so did not get a chance to tour the winery. Well... This was a great winery - I usually try to hit up the smaller local wineries, but after having 2 bad experiences, we made our way to this one on a recommendation from another traveller. It didn't disappoint. It was quite busy and there was 1 person working but she held it together like a trooper and was extremely knowledgable... More

Quite a big winery and tasting room. You can taste over 20 different wines. Employees are quite knowledgeable and friendly. Tastings aren't super expensive and they'll typically wave the fee if you end up buying something (candies, chocolates, wine, wine accessories, etc.). After tasting you can visit the grounds, photograph the vines up close, take the guided 30 minute tour,... More

I attended a wedding there on the weekend, and it was wonderful! The ceremony was right at the water, and the reception was close by under a tent and recently-built structure that had a new concrete pad for dancing. The food was amazing, and the cider was refreshing and tasty. I'm not sure how much of the experience was from... More
