Waupoos Estates Winery sits majestically on a gently sloping hillside overlooking Lake Ontario in beautiful Prince Edward County. The Winery offers an array of wines at the Tasting room, shopping in the Boutique and Dining in the full service Gazebo Restaurant. The first vineyards were planted in the mid 90's. The new vines were allowed time to mature. Proudly opening the doors to the public in 2001 with the first vintage.

My hubby and I decided to celebrate our anniversary by spending a day in Prince Edward County visiting the region's wineries. Our first stop was Waupoos Estates Winery, which alone is worth the drive to Prince Edward County. The winery is situated on a gorgeous...More

Waupoos Estates Winery is hard to find. We attended a wedding there and if it wasn't for a friend standing at the end of the driveway, we would have driven right past it. There was lots of signage, just none of it was facing the...More

Having grown up in Montreal and having lived in Europe, I know I am pretty hard to please. But when a restaurant in a vineyard advertises their food as "gourmet," my expectations are somewhat raised. We had the reserve chardonnay with lunch, and it was...More

I was not impressed by the wines I tasted at this winery and was even less impressed by its over commercialized atmosphere.

This winery produces one of the best wine ever : Baco noir. You can taste all of their wines. The shop is beautiful with lots of choice of bottles and kitchen and drinking gadgets. The restaurant offers a spectacular menu. A must see.

This is one of the larger small wineries in the Picton area. They have a nice building where you can taste and buy their wines as well as a selection of chocolate and candy. There is an on site restaurant that has an upscale menu....More

Most wineries we visited by bicycle weren't that attractive -- mostly just barns. This place was well done -- won for presentation hands-down. That being said, I'm not a wine connoisseur. So I won't offer any comments on their wines. But the food for Sunday...More

The title says it all, this is a beautiful small winery with a great kitchen. The grounds are well manicured with a great view of the lake and we enjoyed the food tremendously. Even picked up some wine to take to a cottage we were...More

From the inviting waterfront grounds, to the nice staff offering wine samples we enjoyed our visit. Even decided to have lunch in their restaurant where food was good but where the staff was borderline indifferent and lacked attention to details.
