Bear Creek Feline Center (BCFC) is home to Florida wildcats and exotic felines located in Panama City, FL. BCFC's mission is one of conservation breeding of selected species, feline rescue/re-homing and public education designed to illuminate the plight of threatened and endangered felines.

Much has happened since April 1, 2000, when BCFC was established under the giant oak trees here in the Bear Creek Community. We have logged thousands of hours to obtain five licenses and we now make permanent homes to exotic species of felines including the 3 native species of Florida. We work with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, the USDA and the Feline Conservation Federation to preserve and "Protect Florida's Wildlife Treasures".

"When was the last time you touched a bobcat or an African Serval?"

Tours are by Appointment only. BCFC invites you to an up close and personal visit with our Florida Panthers, North American Bobcats, African Servals, South American Geoffroy's Cats, Jaguarundis and Siberian Lynx. Cameras are encouraged. There are no additional charges for great photo opportunities. You'll see extremely rare felines, not normally seen in captivity. The FFWCC and the USDA permit some hands-on contact. Small children must be CLOSELY supervised at all times. Tours are scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for your comfort and safety. A $50 donation per adult is customary ($25 for children under the age of 18). These donations are 100% earmarked for the care and feeding of the big cats. Special tour rates for photo ops, families and student groups upon request.

BCFC offers internships whereby selected individuals may gain experience preparatory for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission's licensing process. You may contact us by email for application and interview. You can check our website for an overview of what you can be doing and learning!

The visit to the Center was very special. Jim, Bertie (who was retiring from teaching) and Bobby gave us an excellent tour complete with feeding the cats treats. The article in NatGeo (Feb, 2017) was a true achievement recognition in their Center and care for the animals. The love and devotion seen in the interaction with these cats is awesome.... More

Bear Creek Feline Center is an amazing experience that you shouldn't pass up! The volunteers are extremely friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The tour is very private and you get a lot of time with most of the cats! The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable about the cats and are always willing to answer any questions about them. The... Bear Creek is an awesome place to visit! The volunteers are super friendly and love what they do and being a non-profit, its amazing what Bertie and Jim have done for these cats. The tours are small and you really learn a lot about the different types of cats they have. $50 may sound like a lot but it all... More

We have been to see animals from Alaska to South Africa and this was an extremely satisfying trip. We were thrilled to be so close to the big cats (even petting them) and delighted that Jim and Bertie have dedicated so much of their lives to helping them.

My daughter is a cat rescue person, just housecats. These are not just housecats. We got to go inside the cages with some of them. It was an amazing experience. The people who run this place are extremely nice. They are patient and willing to answer all your questions. To get to pet and love on these cats was an... More

My friend and I were in town for a short vacation and were looking for something new and different to do. The Bear Creek Feline Center came up, so we called and booked a tour. My friend and I were the only ones as guests, so they let us help them do some minor chores to help take care of... More

Don't bother making the trip to go to this place because this guy doesn't really want your business. I searched their web site, their Facebook page and Trip Advisor but was unable to find the hours of operation. I called the same morning and got a recording to leave a phone number but he gave no indication of their hours... More

I wasn't sure what to expect but my son loves wildlife so while we were on vacation, I decided we would check out this place. I think he thanked me about 20 times while we were there. The owners were very nice and down to earth people. You could tell how much love they have for these animals and they... More
