Rented snorkeling equipment with shuttle to shell island. Staff was very friendly. From the building where you purchase tickets and last bathroom stop, you get on a bus for a five minute ride to the shuttle (boat), quick 10 minute ride over to the island and drop off into the bay where many personal boats and pontoons are docked. We... More

Paid money to ride a bus to the ferry and ride to an island only to find I would be dumped off until I decided to come back. Left to figure out where to snorkel, but for the most part very rough waters on the gulf side and dirty trash filled water from storms on the other side. I get... More

The website left us to think this would be a wonderful opportunity to snorkel with our 9 year old. First we were surprised that we had to take a bus ride to the ferry, at the ferry we were taken to shell island. Imagine our shock when we found that in order to get to the gulf side you had... More

Had the best time... the driver of the shuttle and the captain of the ferry worked hard to make our trip pleasant and enjoyable. Shell island was beautiful... great snorkeling and beautiful shells and white soft sand that looks like snow... the only thing I wasn't fond of was the almost mile walk in deep hot sand to get to... 72 bucks for four people, make sure you pack, umbrella, food, drinks, etc. Saw some pretty fish snorkeling and one manatee.

No where did any of us read anything negative about this trip for senior citizens. Senior citizens should not go unless you want: to walk on a long pier with no rails, have any back or walking problems, or balance problems, and there is no bathroom, but they have a small boat selling food items. This trip is for younger... More

The dolphins and snorkeling are the main attractions people like to see, but Capt. Lorraine's tours are so much more than that! She gave us info about the local area's history and she knows tons of stuff about all the wildlife in the area! The boat is not too big, so she took us to some areas around Shell Island... More

I went to the shell island website and viewed pictures and read info regarding cost and schedule for the ferry. I thought this place was going to be as beautiful as the described but no, not at all. Apparently a storm hit near the area and turned the beach into dark redish brown water. Now, I am not mad at... More
