We took our kids to Keaton beach for the day. There were so many jellyfish we didn’t get in the water. The kids played in the sand and on the cool playground nearby. It was neat because there’s a canopy over the playground to keep the kids cool. The bathrooms nearby the playground were the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. I have never seen such nasty bathrooms in the US or in Africa in my time spent there. Fecal matter was spread on the seats and there were no stall doors whatsoever. I don’t know who’s in charge of this place. It was terrible. My 3 yr old needed a bathroom and there wasn’t anything for him. I wasn’t about to take him in there.

My lady and I fell in love again in this beautiful.Keaton beach is a diamond in the rough.A true Florida gulf of Mexico experience . Quite, family friendly, not yet exploited by the elite or stained by growth. A hidden Jewel of awesome sunsets and majestic weather. The fishing is a king's delite and be sure to stop at Walter B's for the things you need. A full blown grocer, kitchen and a taste of all American business. Keaton Beach is a destination that is spiritual . Bring your camera.

This is a peaceful and quiet gulf coast beach. Relatively still waters, and not crowded... Like I said, peaceful. We love this beach. If you want to complain about no restaurants or whatever else... maybe this isn't the place for you. For a relaxing and tranquil visit, stop here.

I like the little beach it has a play ground for children. I wish it was cleaned more it has a lot of sea grass. Also since the storm we don't have all of the pier.

The pier was gone, due to apparent hurricane damage. The beach was covered with seaweed. We enjoyed it, none the less... peaceful and nice. For those that are curious, the signs say: "no dogs" "no alcohol "

There was a very nice sunset at Keaton Beach, Florida. The weather was pleasantly comfortable. There was a nice playground for the kids, picnic pavilions, restrooms and a nice parking area.

Evidently the negative reviews are from people who were too impatient to wait for high tide. I live in the area and use this beach at least once a week for kayaking and sailing my small car-top sailboat. The beach is only 500-600 feet long....but is great for sun bathing, sand castles, fishing or swimming....although, with over 4 feet of tidal swing here, you need to wait for nearly high tide to enjoy swimming. 2 large pavilions are very handy to get out of the sun to enjoy your picnic. No dogs allowed on the beach....so you don't need to worry about stepping in something. A lovely 400 ft fishing pier next to the beach has a gazebo at the end to relax under....and 2 nice gazebos at the other end of the beach at waters edge. True...there are no restaurants here...but plenty of good hot chicken, sandwiches and drinks at the local gas/convenience store. If you have small children, they will certainly love the place...as I see them running and playing on the beach every time I go there. And don't forget the nice outdoor showers....which is a Godsend if you have kids and don't want your car full of sand. ------Jim Taylor

If you are expecting Daytona or Panama City Beach, you are going to be disappointed. Keaton Beach is small. There are about 20 parking spaces in the parking lot. The water is shallow. There is a picnic pavilion and some benches. There is a really long board walk that goes along the boat channel. The new playground is really nice. What Keaton Beach is famous for, is fishing. But not from the shore; bring a boat with you. There is a public boat ramp and also a crane lift at the marina for people that don't want to put their trailers in saltwater. A short run out from the channel and you'll be in some of the best flats fishing waters in Florida.

This is a nice quiet beach. When we were here it wasn't crowded. The beach was nice and clean.
You can have a nice picnic with your children.
This isn't like the beaches I used to live by in South Florida.
So you have a more natural environment.
There isn't going to be concession stands, basketball courts, restaurants....
There will be shells & rocks, some may be sharp.
Great place for the kids to play, make sand castles, dig a hole.
If you are looking for a beach like Daytona or like most South Florida Beaches, then this isn't the place for you.

This is Old Florida. The beach is small. There is a restroom, a pavilion, and a fishing pier. There is no place to eat. Bring what you need. There is a marina, that is well stocked for boating, and fishing, and a wonderful RV park.
