Free parking. Really good circular walking trails suitable for all ages. Interesting information boards, a brochure with map available, observation decks and plenty of shade. Would recommend going in morning before it gets too hot!

Well maintained and maked trails. Interesting Eco-Center. Bring the kids. Comfortable walks for 70 yr olds vary from 0.5 mile to about 2 miles. Benches placed appropriately for a brief rest as needed.

This is, by far, one of the best trails in St. Lucie County. The Red Otter trail runs along the river, and is stunning. There are even dips and peaks in the elevation along the river. The Orange scrub Jay trail can be a soggy mess, but it sure is fun when it's muddy. Gopher tortoises and love this trail, and otters love the canal and river. If you're along the canal side, directly across the little dam is a tortoise den near the top of the hill. There's another on the opposite side, on the Sandhill crane trail.

Oxbow teaches you to appreciate our natural environment. There are multiple, non-strenuous nature trails that encompass different types of ecosystems and environments - hammocks near the river (my favorite) and sandy pine forests with observation decks. The indoor nature center has displays with educational information and the staff does a great job of providing programs throughout the year. If you're new to the area definitely stop by and visit to learn about our wildlife and natural environment.

"These 225 acres feature three miles of nature trails that wind through hammocks and pine forests", so says the website. The trails are open dawn to dusk and would be fine for a family hike or senior stroll. Be sure to check out the observation tower. I understand guided walks are available as well. It is interesting to see where the two eco systems meet and the changes in the plant life Birds are prolific, but other animals are "catch as catch can." Pay close attention to trail markers when available. Kids will love the learning center.

My cousin and I went on a cloudy Sat morning. We first went into nature center building and the woman told us which trails were good to hike and not flooded since we had recently had lots of rain. Luckily we brought our umbrellas because it rained a little bit. We had a great time and took dozens of pics. Trails were well maintained and easy to hike. Boardwalks were wet and a little slippery but we knew that since there was a sign warning us. We will definitely be back to hike the other trails.

We went for a little walk to see the centre and ended walking the whole outside edge trail because it was enjoyable.
We learned a few things from the forest displays and just had a great time.
This park is close to get to.
I did not see any gators but was told they could be near by. I saw many interesting plants and waterways.
The outside trail is a longer walk with some small steeper hills.

I really like this park. It’s big, has lots of wildlife and super clean. It has an observation deck as well. I saw snakes, armadillos, birds and lots of other things!

We've heard about the Oxbow Eco-Center for a few years but never checked it out. It is near our church and we see it all the time. We finally checked it out for Earth Day and were not disappointed! It's got an interesting indoors center with some exhibits and live animals. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. There are also small items, crafts and jewelry for sale. The trails out back are great and can easily take an hour or two (or more, depending on the pace you walk). There are a few different ecosystems and an observation deck you can climb up to, plus a dock alongside the river at the end of one of the trails. We got some great exercise and it was nice to be outside. A gem in our town and I'm glad it's well taken care of. Now we will have to check out the other preserves in Port Saint Lucie and Fort Pierce and the Savannas once it gets cooler; this was a nice warm-up and we plan on coming back soon. :)
