Such a beautiful island! This is a definitely an all day excursion, starting at 7:30 am and being dropped back at the resort by 6:30. 1 hour and 1/2 smooth ride on catamaran. When you arrive there’s a great island bbq at one. It served pork, chicken, pasta, cucumbers, rice, and watermelon. You can buy lobster there too. Left the island at 3 to be taken back by speed boat.

Tourist Traps ! no respect of the environmment ! Plastic and tourists everywhere . Waste of money . Food disgusting . Very disapointed . Only the sea was beautiful , better to stay quiet at the hotel for that . Never again

We visited Saona Island back in June and it is a bit rocky, uninhabited, but getting there is part of the journey. The tour that we book took us out there on a catamaran and it was an amazing day to go. The sea was smooth, the drinks were flowing and when we arrived, they had prepared a full service Dominican meal for us. On the return, they took us back in a speed boat which stops at a place call the "pool" which is a very shallow area in the middle of the ocean where they allowed us to swim for an hour and had a bar literally floating on the water! It was a day well spent.

The ride there on the catamaran is quite nice, but the Island itself is nothing special. Basically a beach with shallow water. You do another stop on the way back in another shallow water. You could snorkel, but there is nothing to see besides sand! The food on the island is just terrible.

A perfect beach in every way. Warm clear water, white sand, palm trees, What's not to love? The waves were a great treat as well. We loved it here. Too bad no resorts on this island.
