Philippe Park is my favorite park in the Tampa Bay area. The rolling hills and thick shaded trees makes you forget you are in Florida. The view of the bay on the mound is spectacular. The interesting walkways and sandy beaches are fun for kids to explore. The hills are perfect for a great work-out, either walking, biking or rollerblading.... More

My wife and I love going to this park great view of upper tampa bay, you are actually at waters edge, the oaks are magnificent. Very clean from picnic areas, BBQ's, Restrooms overall. Park has a boat ramp, kids playground, bit of history and best of all its FREE.

This Park has an ancient lovely and sacred Indian Mound that you have to visit. It sits high up and overlooks the lovely peaceful Old Tampa Bay. I saw Great Horned Owls breeding in a tree one afternoon there. Ancient and extraordinary trees that you will want to take pictures of. A walk along the bay is heavenly and I... More

This is such a neat park. We stumbled on it our last day in Florida. I wish we had more time to walk around and explore. The grounds are very well maintained and the views of the harbor are awesome!

I have been going to this park for 30 years and it is always a relaxing visit. The canopied drive with the oaks is worth the visit alone. And the best part...it is free!!! Unlike Honeymoon Island (they even charge bicyclists to enter)! Take a picnic lunch, walk or bike the road, or walk along the water, watching various birds.... More

Fantastic park with pavillions and historical Indian mound and surroundings. Childrens playground is located near Indian mound along with gorgeous old oak trees which have limbs hanging to the ground. No playing on limb sign is there but located in a bad area. Children still climb the beautiful limbs. Water views of the bay and walking paths. Easy to get... More

I've been coming to Philippe Park since I was a boy. It has changed greatly over the years, and to the better. The park is well maintained, clean, playgrounds, open grassy areas, shade, walking, outdoor picnic tables and covered pavilions. Taking children is recommended as the playgrounds are fully equipped, clean, and safe. Here they can run, jump, and play... More
