After looking at the City Gates & Huguenot Cemetery I walked down Orange Street to Cordova Street. This cemetery is right next to the Wax Museum that used to be a drug store.
Trolley Stop 3 with a short walk.
This isn't open either. Took some pics through the bars.
There's information signs that give a history.
Probably ghosts...

Very interesting cemetery, right in the middle of the historic district. It’s easy walking distance from St. George Street
The gate was locked, but I could still get some decent pictures. It would’ve been nice though to get close enough to read the headstones.

This cemetery is open to the public for self-guided or tour guided tours on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
Our tour guide, Sarah, knew everything! She had fantastic stories to tell - lots of history. Our tour lasted way over an hour.

I love the history of St. Augustine, & this cemetery is a part of that. I was a bit disappointed that the cemetery is not open to the public, but rather viewable only from the perimeter. I understand the need to protect it, but I still wish I could've gone in. I did jot down some of the names on the signs & enjoyed learning a bit more about those who are interred there. I recommend passing by, but there's really nothing to do except read the plaques.

Such an old cemetery. They have tours available but we just walked by to admire it. I believe it’s also on one of the ghost tours.

Even though the cemetery is not open to the public, you can still see and marvel over the beauty and history it holds. Even though this cemetery is extremely old, it is very well cared for. So many towns and city allow their older cemeteries to be forgotten and it's a shame. This one you can see the pride that someone has taken in caring for it. Thank you to that person(s).

I was disappointed that it is only open on certain days of the month and the week I was there to visit was not any of those days. Given that, you can learn much about the cemetery if you take a trolley tour or a Ghosts and Gravestones tour, where they will regale you with some of the tales. Ask at the visitor center for dates when it is open to get in and stroll around.

Since this cemetery & the Huguenot cemetery are only open once in awhile, we have been lucky enough to be here when they are open. There's so much history in both these cemeteries that is so interesting. The volunteers are very pleasant & full of knowledge of the cemeteries. Both are free of charge to go thru. Tolomato has a numbered guide you can follow, detailing facts of interest. They do rely on donations for their restoration projects. We recommend going thru both theses cemeteries whenever they are open.

I have visited St. Augustine several times over the years. One of my favorite cities. An old city, and with it, very old cemeteries. I do not get into the "ghost stuff" in St. Augustine. The cemeteries themselves are magnificent. Old, old, old graves. Old tombstones and cripts. Sad to see during my last visit a few years ago, that the cemeteries were closed off to the public. I used to be able to walk around them, with deep respect. But unfortunately other people hurt these precious graves some how. So I commend the city for closing and protecting them, all while still giving the public a chance to view such amazing history, at a distance.

The cemetery is open once a month, and free tours are offered showing the vast history from the indigenous cultures through the Spanish & British periods up to the Civil War era. All of the volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable.
