I originally thought this would be touristy, hokey and not worth the money. I was wrong! Full of history and authentic artifacts. Our pirate guide was very informative. Home of the only known surviving treasure chest. A must see!

As far as pirate museums go, this one lacked appeal. (The pirate museum in Beaufort, NC was much better!). The treasure map kept us there longer than we would have stayed otherwise. It did have a few neat items but overall would have not missed...More

Our adventure back in time with swashbuckling Captain Mayhem was great fun, and surprisingly informative. The museum is full of fascinating artifacts, and our tour with the aforementioned pirate-storyteller was a real treat. My wife, grandson and I enjoyed ourselves, and we'd have fun returning...More

The Pirate Tour was fantastic, the guide, who looked and sounded like a real pirate, was very knowledgeable and he didn’t white wash the history. They had many real museum pieces that you will not find elsewhere, it was a great place to visit.

We enjoyed the museum on our own for awhile when a Pirate arrived and called everyone together. He then gave us an informative tour. He seemed somewhat knowledgeable of the history and his costume was great. The children really enjoyed it.

If I remember correctly it was not long, you can do the tour which was maybe a half hour maybe 45min, but well worth the tour. Or you can just go look through the museum on your own!
