San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

The tour wasn't much to see although the guide was good and explained the wine making process well. It was worthwhile to see the beautifully restored building and experience the wine-tasting at the end of the tour!

We didn't have time our particular visit for the tour, which is disappointing. The lady at the tasting bar allowed us to taste a few, including the new Alexander Cabernet, which was delicious. For a small fee, we even got to keep our San Sebastian glasses. We ended up buying 6 bottles. I love this place and hopefully, next time... More

Nice winery, and good wine. Maria was a great tour and tasting guide. We sampled eight wines - reds and white, sweet and dry, including a great port. We finished with a hot mulled wine.

When I think of Florida, I do not think of wineries. So, coming to this winery in St Augustine was a very pleasant surprise. There was a short video with good information on the history and production...worth seeing. Then, one can wine-taste 6 samples for free. These wines have a local, southern distribution, so not seen in the northern states.... More

Very nice presentation about the wine industry and the wines the make. Gift shop also has some quaint items.

Would have given a 5, but their selection of wines is limited by the glass. But all else makes this a place to experience especially for sunset. I didn't take the wine tour,

San Sebastian Winery is a good place to learn about the wine industry here in Florida. The free tour and tasting are simply wonderful -- informative and a good experience.

Enjoyed our visit to the San Sebastian winery. Nice introductory film. Matt was our tour guide and did a great job explaining the different wines they make. Each visitor got to sample eight different wines, which was fun too! Enjoyable tour. Great gift shop. Would definitely put on the St Augustine tour list for adults!

Great tour for gaining knowledge about the wine making industry and more specifically in regards to Floridian wine. Free wine tasting is provided, but unfortunately if you like more "flavorful" wines this is not the tour for you. The wines were weak tasting, in my opinion, but the rest (for the most part) of the group didn't seem to mind.... More
