San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

I had heard so much about this winery that is was on the top of my to-do-list when visiting St. Augustine. I went on New Year’s Day and unfortunately it was closed for the day. Good that I had an extra day to visit this place. I did not know what to expect, I always imagined it would be a... More

This was one of the stops on our tour . I am not much of a wine drinker but enjoyed this stop. Saw short film and then taken to see how wine was made, stored and then to the wine tasting room. Tour guide was very informative and I learned a lot of new things about the different wines, how... More

Saw the sign, drove on in. The tour was just starting and off we went. Fun, informative and a nice group of strangers. We learned a bit, too about wines. You might enjoy it, too.

This winery advertises in all the tourist books. They are on the route for the tourists trolley. There is a coupon for 10% off a purchase in the "Big Fat Coupon Book". The tour starts with an 11 minute video of the winery. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and pleasant. They also serve the wines for the tastings. There... More

I am not a wine drinker unless it is named Diet Coke. I will sip a bit but I enjoyed the tour anyway. It was neat to go into an old building and see things still in use. They offer several samples of wine and for $5 you can sample 2 premium wine which I am guessing is better than... More

Best tour and tasting I have ever experienced. Gale was our tour guide and she was extremely knowledgeable about wine. I have been on many wine tours and not learned 20% of what she told us. Tours are all day when they get a crowd and take about an hour including the tasting. They gave you 8 tastings and they... More

Interesting movie, tour and wine tasting. One of my favorites was the hot wine that you can make with red wine, brown sugar and mulberry. Recipe attached.

On my birthday we decided to swing by and purchase a case of the ROSA. Already familiar with the lovely bouquet we were sold and only wanted to sample the one taste to verify the purchase. Got our cup and skipped all the bottom floor, headed up stairs, and got a little winded. Paused because I'm recovering from recent knee... More

My wife and I toured the San Sebastian Winery during our honeymoon. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the wine and the process making and bottling the wine. The quality of the wine is outstanding. The food at the wine bar upstairs is outstanding. I recommend trying the Port wine.
