San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St....

San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. All together, San Sebastian labels have won over 1,600 awards for excellence in winemaking, with more coming in each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida and Georgia. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. The Cellar Upstairs features incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine, draft beer and light appetizers.

The tour wasn't as intimate as other tours and wine tastings I've been to at wineries in Connecticut. However, it was FREE so I can't complain. I didn't buy any wine since I was traveling and didn't want it to get too warm. It's close to the distillery so I was able to tour both places.

We stopped by just to purchase a bottle of wine as a gift but really enjoyed our time there. The wine tasting is on two floors and the they serve more samples along a walking tour. My husband found a great port and a cream sherry which we purchased. I found that the gift items in the store were priced... More

With in-laws who live in St. Augustine we have been to town several times. San Sebastian is a usual stop for us. We started going when they first opened back in the late 90's. We decided to do the tour and tasting for about the 5 time because our daughter wasn't old enough the last time we were down. The... More

I loved this so much I did it two times in 4 days. The first time we went it was during a week. It was busy, but not crowded and they keep the tours moving so you don't really feel the crowd. I loved it because you get a guided tour and if you are lucky you get to do... More

Three couples of us went. They had a very nice self guided tour which was interesting. There were eight to ten different wines to sample at different stations based on wine types. I liked the sweeter port and sherry best. We are not wine drinkers, and this may have been my first experience, but it was fun.

This place is fun just for the free factor but the tour itself is boring and outdated. The tasting is fun because they have knowledgeable staff to explain the in and outs of wine tasting for tourists who aren't familiar with wine tastings. However, MOST wines here are made with Muscadine grapes, so they are all very very sweet. Worth... More

We went on a Sunday and the tour/tasting was a self guided walk through "tour". Not a lot of information but you can't beat free wine. We really enjoyed going up to the rooftop bar/eatery after. The view from up there is wonderful and they had live music too. Our server, Ashley, was great and told us a lot of... More

San Sebastian Winery tour was very nice. The wine was delicious. We learned a lot about Florida wineries and grapes grown. We have a new favorite wine.
