- psudinoWeehawken, New Jersey4,427 contributionsI quite enjoyed this stadium.I've only heard negative things about Tropicana Field, but I'm giving 5 stars because it was very nice all around. +Easy to get to +Plenty of parking +Climate controlled (it was nasty hot outside when we went) +Anyone we met who worked there was quite nice +My wife and I walked the entire stadium during 3 of the innings with our bored kids and the small museum alcoves are a nice touch. +The stores are have an in an out counter so it's never too crowded, and it moves fast. I prefer waiting outside in a line than being a store which is so crowded you can't move. Overall, my family and I had a great time here!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten March 24, 2024
- GlobeTrotterNL1Peterborough, Canada1,178 contributionsLoved it!I’ve heard that this is one of the worst baseball stadiums, but we really liked it! It’s not quite as overwhelming as some of the massive stadiums (in my opinion). The concessions were good (of course, they’re overpriced, but they are everywhere). Parking was great and we had great seats! We would definitely come to another game if we’re in the area again.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten April 2, 2024
- Corbin GHolyoke, Massachusetts413 contributionsAverageThis was my 10th baseball park that I've visited. And this one ranked near the bottom. The stadium itself is in fine shape, and clean but it lacks personality. There was nothing there that stood out as the home of the Rays. If this stadium was the home of an TV dealership I would have believed it.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten May 10, 2024
- JordanHemel Hempstead, United Kingdom148 contributionsGetting olderIt's no secret, the Trop is old. Personally, I really like it. I think it has a lot of character, you know it's gonna be temperate etc. but it feels like it's time is coming to an end. The amenities inside are pretty good, plenty of bars, restrooms and food vendors. My girlfriend is a coeliac and she has lots of choice which was great. The field is nice and you can get a good seat for pretty cheap, because it normally isn't that full.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten May 20, 2024
- FoodBucketListTroy, Alabama704 contributionsGreat day for our family! We had a great time! There is so much to do in addition to the baseball game. Staff are helpful and friendly. We love the enclosed stadium. It makes baseball on a HOT day a lot more enjoyable. Seats are a little snug for plus sized peeps, but that is the only fault. This place is great! We got the refillable cup for $17 and it saved us in the long run. Plenty of snacks and drink options all around. Check out the live rays tank. It’s really neat to have them in a baseball park outfield.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten June 30, 2024
- LeezrabNewport, United Kingdom45 contributionsGreat night out for the family! We had a great time at our first baseball game on holiday from the UK. It was a busy Friday night game but prepaid parking was easy. The food hall was super busy but we were served super quick by a great hostess in the hot dog food area. Seats were easy to find and the seating hostess was great too and really welcoming. Game atmosphere was fab and we had a free Tampa Bay Rays fleeced hoodie which was great fun during the entertainment as everyone had them on supporting the Rays. Really enjoyed and even though the Rays didn't win we still had a great night!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 10, 2024
- Lori MDanville, Illinois139 contributionsGreat Game, Great ExperienceWent to watch the Rays play the Twins. Excellent experience from start to finish. We wore our Chicago Cubs jerseys and everyone was so nice. My husband is handicapped and requires Wheelchair assistance and they were fantastic. They took him from the entrance to our seats, gave us a card that we could message them if needed, 2nd employee came during game and introduced themselves in case we needed them, then as soon as game was over they returned and took us almost to our car. We thought the stadium was very nice and very clean. They are in the process of building a new stadium, which should be open in 2028. Would definetly go to another game here!Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten September 17, 2024
- mayacosmosEnglewood, New Jersey311 contributionsGreat baseball in an older smaller stadiumSo I kinda liked this older, smaller, no frills stadium. Great seats! Great parking and a pretty good team. Liked the vibe of the fans and on field entertainment. Felt like old fashioned baseball. Enjoy seeing one of the last games of the season. Low tech where the baseball was the starVisited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024

Whenever you are at a ballpark it is kind of hard to give a bad review, because there are no bad reviews when watching baseball at a stadium. Being in Florida watching a game, it is a good thing to be under a dome. At about the 6 th inning the skies opened up and it sounded like a torrential rain storm, with thunder and lightning. We were perfectly dry and the game was not interrupted. I was shocked to get in and hear such a quiet stadium. It was too quiet. What a shame; this Devil Rays team is actually pretty good. The concession stands were strategically placed and their system of contactless ordering and paying seems to work pretty well. The fans we were sitting next to, seemed to be diehard fans, nice to see. Getting in and out of the park was pretty easy probably because the attendance seemed to be poor. Regardless, I enjoyed my visit to this park and appreciated the effort put in by the team. Good luck Rays on your 2021 season. I hope the fans turn out for you because your team is fun to watch.

Tropicana Field is definitely an ugly stadium with a lot of minuses....it's understandable why fans and the organization want a new stadium! But, at least it's baseball.
One quirk pet peeve of mine is when you can't walk around the entire stadium. Many venues you are able to, even if it means snaking through stairs, etc. I generally like to walk around and see the entire stadium We definitely couldn't do that. Additionally, we entered from the outfield area, and the "corridor" to get towards the baseline and forward seating runs along the upper concourse, with narrow walkways.
The other big minus (we were seated more or less in the Homeplate area), is that for most of the stadium, getting concessions was like being in a basement, with absolutely no connection to the field, or ability to see/hear what's going on in the game.
Prices are typical stadium sky-high prices; $18 a piece for a 20 oz yuengling can (although bud light cans were much cheaper).
The location is extremely walkable from downtown St. Pete, along a well developed commercial corridor with lots of dining and drinking establishments, so that's a positive.
It's tough to not enjoy yourself at any baseball game, and we definitely did here; the stadium itself, though, left a lot to be desired.

Still dont know what everyones problem is with the stadium. I love it, its walkable, easy parkinf amd right dtsp. A good view from every seat and protects from the heat. Only complaint is the OUT of CONTROL pricing. $22 for a cocktAil and $7 for a soda should be illegal as price gauging. No one can afford to come multiple times a year.

The best part of the experience was the time spent with our family at an MLB game.
We enjoyed the view from our seats and there were a reasonable selection of classic snacks and drinks available. The stadium is climate controlled and you won't get rained on!
The stadium staff were outstanding! They were helpful, responsive, and professional.
The stadium seemed past its prime...while most fans were undoubtedly there to support their home team (unlike some places like Miami where the fans seem like they are more there to see and be seen), the facility is sorely in need of everything from improved amenities to fresh paint on their cinderblock walls. New stadiums are super expensive and Tampa might be trying to figure out whether to invest any more since the stadium lease expires in 2027.
We are glad we got to visit the ballpark on our family's goal of visiting all the MLB parks together!

Went to 2 games here to watch the Brewers vs. the Devil Rays. Sat in row 6 from the field on the third base line past the visitor’s dugout. Almost impossible to follow the ball due to the white ceiling. 2nd game was better sitting between home and 1st base 27 rows up. I found the necessary bright lights to be disturbing and actually saw better wearing my sunglasses indoors. Attendance is horrible for a team with the best record in baseball. 18,900 on a Friday night and 19,900 on a Saturday. They only sell the seats in the lower bowl which totals about 22,000 and the upper bowl only if attendance exceeds 25K, which is usually during the playoffs. Food concessions are pretty good with a lot of unique items and several full-service bars are available. Very easy in and out.

We attended a spring training game here. do not take a backpack here. They will not allow a regular backpack in the stadium. The 72 degree temp inside was a relief from the 90;degree outdoor temp. NOTE this is a cashless stadium.

Friends had good third base lower seats for easy viewing. The game was well paced allowing time for food and pricey beverages. Not enough Rest Rooms are a problem... Long lines for ladies and men.

Lights were beautiful, and there were lots of them! Santa’s 9 reindeer are HUGE and located throughout the maze. Don’t expect a maze, though, because you can meander throughout, making it difficult to know what you’ve seen and what you’ve missed. Markets were very disappointing since I expected more of a Santa’s workshop. Overall a commercial environment that didn’t make me feel warm and cozy as I left the stadium, and the parking lot is not marked, so we had trouble finding our small convertible in a sea of SUVs!

The ballpark itself is average at best for a major league ballpark but shines when it comes to customer service. Everyone was very friendly. There scoreboard is small and finding information about game (pitch count, pitch type, etc) and there is no out of town scoreboard. The seats are comfortable and all angled toward homeplate. There were some interesting food venues.

Are there any hotels close enough to the park where we could walk?
Written December 29, 2019
I recommend the Marriott Courtyard on 4th Street. They have a very reliable free shuttle bus. Many people stay there and travel to the Trop that way. It’s a nice refurbished hotel. And the shuttle will take you anywhere else too. We have stayed there many times. Nice people too.

I’m bringing my 94 yr old mother and worried about getting her safely to the seats.
Written September 20, 2019
They do have elevators and they do have seats Along the rail so she doesn’t have to do the steps. Also if you buy your tickets at the box office or on phone you can ask them if they have seating to accommodate your mom.

Are there porta-potties in the parking lots for tailgating?
Written April 15, 2019
I was there for the first time earlier this month. There were no porta potties in the lots that I parked in. People were however, tailgating before the game.
