Neat lighthouse. You can not go up into the lighthouse but can walk around and go to the beach there. There were also picnic tables and restrooms. The parking is $5/ hour.

My wife loved the shelling here. It’s also accessible by foot and a nice peaceful walk. Avoid the turtle nests!

For me this was a must see. I love lighthouses in all shapes and sizes. This one is different with its metal structure. A great addition to the Island and a definate pull to that area and beach. The parking for that area is steap...More

After dinner at Grandma Dot's, we came down to visit the lighthouse. We parked in the parking area, walked to the fishing pier and then through the grounds to the lighthouse very interesting, saw some wildlife and a nesting Osprey.

Everytime we go to Sanibel, we must visit the Sanibel Lighthouse! This trip was no exception. Beautiful beach nearby as well as the fishing pier.

None of the "houses" were open. Cost $5 to park and we were gone in 13 minutes. Nothing to see or do.

If you plan on visiting the lighthouse and you're close enough to walk or take a bike by all means do so instead of driving. Public parking is a big rip off on the island. Either that or they discourage driving. $5 / hr. This...More

It was a quick little trip. We enjoyed the fishing pier and walking to the lighthouse. Cool views from area. The lighthouse itself is vey unique looking as I am used to New England lighthouses.

We took a 2.5mile walk down the beach to see this lighthouse. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed the walk but the lighthouse wasn’t very exciting at all. It’s just a light on a lattice type column and that’s about it. No access...More

This lighthouse is still shining it’s beacon on Sanibel! Drive to it or walk from Lighthouse Beach! Also the beach close to the lighthouse is fun to explore. So go ahead and visit this great piece of history on the island of Sanibel.

Lots of parking right there but you need to pay. I didn’t look around to see if there was free parking
