Beautiful place!

A very well kept secret in the Sarasota area. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained and the location on Sarasota bay is breathtaking. It is a must visit when in the area.

We took the whole family. The Adults & grandkids loved it. Highly recommend for a Annual Holiday Activity. Tip - if possible, have someone drop you off. The offsite parking was inconvenient but very well managed.

Kids enjoyed playing in the banyan tree and the rainforest play area. It was a great change of pace, beautiful and relaxing. Great way to enjoy the weather and the beauty of nature. The food options were expensive and didn't appeal to my picky eaters. However, the adults enjoyed the fresh salads.

The gardens are beautiful. We walked for a couple hours, toured the mansion and watched the boats in the harbour.

Thank you to Marie Selby and the incredible staff who have made her garden into a treasure. The gardens are so diverse. There are sections for a wide variety of plant life that can grow successfully in this Florida climate: jungle, mangrove, desert, bamboo forest. The variety of exquisite orchids is immense. It is vast so wear your walking shoes.... More

After seeing the botanical gardens in Naples Fla. I did not think I would see one on par with that one but the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens equals the one in Naples and in some ways even exceeds it. They grounds is layout out very well and the upkeep is superb. Then the variety of plants and flowers is almost... More

This is one of the best gardens we have been to. It specialises in epiphytes such as orchids. Manned by volunteers it is perfectly kept and has lots of shade so you don't get too hot looking round. The cafe is excellent and has some very different and tasty offerings eg a humus dip with small pepers, different coloured carrots... More

I volunteer at Selby, and every week I am amazed at the orchids, bromeliads and many other plants in bloom. Come alone, with a friend or family, and see this wonderful garden; walk around or meditate, you will never forget this tropical paradise.

I am a member of Selby and have enjoyed this gorgeous garden for many years. The grounds are amazing with so many interesting areas with beautiful plants including my favorites the tropical conservatory/orchid house, the fern garden and Koi pond, the walk through the huge banyans etc., the native plant trails (including the boardwalk through the mangroves on the edge...
