About
This outdoor mall with a coastal view is a high end retail and entertainment district home to over 130 shops, restaurants and galleries. St. Armand's Circle is built on an island in Sarasota Bay adjacent to Lido Key. Its circular shape and layout is inspired by its designer John Ringling, who is famous for shaping the modern day circus—you can learn more about it through day tours around Sarasota. The shops surround a charming green park in the center—a perfect place to relax in between a full day of shopping and dining. – Tripadvisor

St. Armands Circle-world class experiences and near the beach too!
Looking for a place to stroll and browse unique little shops or try one of the many restaurants and sidewalk eateries for great food? The Circle is a great place to do it all AND still be close enough to the beach for a days outing or just to watch the gorgeous sunsets! There are parking meters now, credit cards only. There’s also a parking garage which we found more affordable and convenient for exiting town. You’ll probably want to go more than one time to fully see and experience all it has to offer!

    A shoppers dream
We made a quick stop here on a Sunday afternoon to grab some souvenirs, and this place is amazing. There are so many shops and restaurants to check out and of course historic markers and little statues too. We didn't stay long as it was extremely crowded, but at least parking was free (Sunday only)

Great and Unique shopping and Dining
We really enjoy St. Armands Circle. This was our 4th visit. It's easy to get around and the shops are unique and fun. I highly recommend The Landing Company (ask for Collin or Jo Jo), Alexander's (ask for Mary) and Simona for beautiful and reasonable jewelry and as for restaurants, Columbia is very good; Lobstercraft (ask for Scott) for great hot buttered Lobster rolls among other sandwich picks, Speaks Clam Bar for their Seafood Lasagna and Rico's for pizza. Any time of day is great to go but some of the shops close early so I would recommend going at 10:00 a.m. and enjoy every minute. Restaurants stay open later but each vary.

The dream of John and Mabel Ringling fulfilled
St. Armands Circle, one of the most fashionable shopping areas in the United States, was the dream of circus magnate John Ringling and his wife Mabel. While wintering in Sarasota, Florida in the 1920s, Ringling purchased a lot of land on Sarasota Bay and built a bridge to connect St. Armands Key and Bird Key to the Sarasota mainland. In 1926, St. Armands Circle became a reality. Today, the seven-acre property features over 130 stores and restaurants. Any visit to Sarasota isn't complete without a stroll around St. Armands Circle. Some of the stores include Alexander's Fine Jewelers, Kilwin's, Tommy Bahama, Chico's, Foxy Lady, Lily Pulitzer, Apricot Lane Boutique, White House Black Market, Charleston Shoe Company, Hatley Boutique, The Met, Soma, St. Armands Antiques and Gifts, Wyland Galleries, Otto Jewelry, Rochelle's Boutique and Stingray Beachware. Restaurants open for lunch and dinner include Columbia, Crab and Fin, Cafe L'Europe, Blue Dolphin, Shore, Cilantro Grill, Le Colonne, Daiquiri Deck, Speaks Clam Bar, Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar, Pizzolo Pizza, Lynches Pub, Rico's Pizzeria, Venezia and St. Armands Oyster Bar. It's a wonderful way to spend a day away from the beach.

    New owners this year.
Garden Argosy was such a surprise. So many unique gifts and the people working there are so great! Apparently it was bought recently by a beautiful couple. They made me feel so welcome. Ask for Caity when you go she had so many great gift ideas and suggestions. I bought many one of a kind items.

    Shops, Restaurants & Beaches
The area is an easy-going series of shops and restaurants around the circle/center and surrounding streets. The ambiance is casual and people very friendly. Adjacent to the area is a pleasant beach - ideal for spending part of, or all of the day and have some dinner in one of the many restaurants. Overall a very nice visit.

    European Mediterranean vibe
Gorgeous circular promenade with tropical botanical attributes and sculptures. Strolling along here after dinner evokes a strong European Mediterranean vibe. Parking can be a problem. The Columbia Restaurant seems to dominate, but there are plenty of other great places to eat. The street is lined with a variety of interesting shops.

    Really cool!
Really cool area, we parked down towards Lido Beach(where its free) and walked to the circle. Really good shopping, of all kinds and a lot of restaurant choices. Coffee and mini donuts were very good! This is an area where you can spend a day for sure!

Pleasant surprise we enjoyed visiting daily!
When we booked a trip to Lido Key, we didn’t know what to expect when the weather ended up being unseasonably cool. Little did we know, we would absolutely love walking around St Armand’s circle once or twice per day! There’s so much to offer for any meal, including delicious gelato shops! If shopping is your thing, you won’t be disappointed.

An Upscale Dining and Shopping Experience
This is quite the shopping and dining experience. There are plenty of restaurants of all types of food and pricing. There are also plenty of shops, majority high end, not your touristy tshirt/gift shops. You can walk to Lido Beach which is about 10 minutes from last of Main shopping avenue. There is a free shuttle, Bayrunner, which brings you between various stops on Main St in Sarasota to various stops in St Armands circle and Lido beach. There is app that shows you stops.

Stay away from Earth. Pushy salespeople, horrible product that doesn't work. St. Armands would do well to get rid of them and their affiliates.

Seems like a very popular area. Perhaps a weekday would be a wiser choice for a first-time visit.

We visited on a Saturday mid-mornjng and couldn't find parking anywhere within a quarter mile of the circle or the beach. Excessively crowded everywhere, we wasted 90 minutes trying to visit.

Armand square is a good place to hang out , with nice stores, bars and easy access to a very large, white sanded clean beach. Also not far from downtown as many other praised beaches are. Recommend it.
