One of the best shows I have seen at Asolo - very innovative. The revolving set changes were spectacular. The acting was superb. Not to be missed if you are in Sarasota before June 1 !

Asolo Rep presents classic and contemporary plays with the highest professional artistic and technical quality. All productions are well directed, acted and designed. Asolo does not just present frothy musicals and diverting comedies. The works are thought provoking and emotionally engaging. Their 2014 production of The Grapes of Wrath, for example, had music, laughs, a swimming pool and a rainstorm... More

These theater has three venues (or more, if you count rehearsal hall and other such spaces). I like that they offer a variety of shows: drama, comedy, musical. Some seating advice: in the Mertz Theater, there is limited leg-room in the first row of the balcony; in the Historic Theater, if you're closer than row E, you'll be looking up... More

Just got back from seeing "hero" at the Asolo Theatre. It was amazing. Great cast and fantastic set/scene changes. I highly recommend it. Don't get seats in the back corners as you will miss some of the action.

There is nothing to dislike about the Asolo. We just saw The Grapes Of Wrath and it had a cast that couldn't be beat! The directing was great and the stage scenery outstanding.

Our first play at Asolo was 4000 Miles, an intriguing play with strong acting. We talked about the characters for an hour afterwards! Wish we could have been there for the "talk back"! Really a gorgeous venue for a play; I'd go see anything they put on!

We were fortunate to see The Grapes of Wrath at Asolo this March. This was a very impressive production! The set was amazing and the cast so talented. We can't wait to return next winter and experience more than one production.

The play we saw was fun and well performed and produced. The theater is well kept, the acoustics are good, and the seating was perfect.
