The docents at Mote make every area delightful and educational. Their extra information adds to the winder of all the sea creatures. Mote is primarily a research lab, involved in everything from finding new cures to replenishing coral reefs. The Aquarium boasts a complete Giant Squid specimen, octopus and cuttlefish, huge shark tank, corals and convict fish you may not... More

I have visited this aquarium twice, with my last visit during November of last year. It is really nice, and has great exhibits. It is well worth your time to visit! ENJOY! The animals are beautiful!

We decided to take the kids on a quick day trip and ended up at the Mote Marine Laboratory. There was not much going on, but I found the exhibits to be educational, and the kids loved it. The new area, with the otters and alligators was very nice, and had only recently opened. The staff was friendly and the... More

We've been here three times and have never been disappointed. It's a great place to be both entertained and educated about the sea. Recommend taking the Sarasota Bay Explorers pontoon cruise; it's a great way to see more of the area as well as learn about what lives in the Bay. Having a Marine Biologist serve as tour guide really... More

Sea turtles, manatee, and otters oh my!! Even an OCTOPUS!! A marine animal lover's dream. The set up is kind of weird with 2 separate buildings across the street from each other, but worth the small walk. Very affordable and worth the money.

We planned to go to another aquarium in clearwater until we found out about Mote Marine, which was 10 minutes from us. We are so glad we did! All of the years of going to Sarasota, this was an unexpected surprise! My kids are 6 &7 and it was perfect. We spent most of the day there, it wasnt crazy... More

Impressive setting, buildings, educational opportunity with lots of fun! Some hands-on, certainly close up with everything. Favorite memory was the winter with guest penguins, wish they could return! Well informed staff, receptive to questions and conversation.

A very enjoyable day can be spent here. Some people review Mote and make comparisons to other aquariums around the country. This aquarium has lots to see and do with a large variety of nice exhibits. The difference with Mote is that it is a marine research facility and rehab hospital. You aren't going to find the glam and glitz... More

You won't regret the $20 ticket to go in. You'll see so many different things that I would honestly pay $30 plus knowing the money goes in to the lab to help conservation work makes it even better.
