We loved Mote Marine Laboratory and aquarium. It's an aquarium but packed full of interesting exhibits. My three personal favorites were the octopus, the jelly fish and the river otters! The octopus and jelly fish were up close and easily seen. The river otter were a blast to watch. If you can go around feeding time you'll get an entertaining... More

There's a variety of things to see here, from jellyfish and turtles to sharks and manatees... and lots of different fish, of course. Love to watch the river otters, too! Interesting glimpses into the marine labs where they are trying to solve many different problems relating to the world's oceans and sealife.

Our family, ages ranging from 2&1/2 to 62, visited this aquarium. It was enjoyed by everyone of us. While the entrance fee is not particularly a bargain, you do have access to 2 of the largest exhibits. You really get you your money's worth! The exhibits are at heights that even our smallest had opportunity to view without being constantly... More

I have been to some of the biggest aquariums around, but this is a "tiny jewel". The fish displays are wonderfully presented - although they could be a little bit more informative. The manatee and otter displays allow you to get very close. The staff are very friendly, and information; although they do rotate around so not "experts" but give... More

Perfect if the weather is either too hot or wet, as much of it is undercover. Not only do you see some of the creatures that you could find in the local area, you learn about the ecology, & the amazing work that Mote is doing to help preserve & educate. Plus there are some creatures that you can touch,... More

Nice variety of exhibits! We loved the octopus and the manatees. The sea otters were fun to watch too. Not crowded and not too big to do in a few hours. The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit!

Lots to see here, and even some sea critters to pet. I think what makes it work here is that they keep the tanks incredibly clean, so you can really see the critters well; plus there are always volunteers around to tell you about the critters. The stingrays are a highlight- they’ll swim right up to you, and you’re allowed... More
