Great place for walking, running or cycling. If you don't have a bike you can rent one for a resonable price.

We live right by the trail so we go on it all the time, I can't wait until they bring it to Sarasota proper. My only complaint is that the serious bikers use it have a tendency to go much faster than the 15 mph...More

The Legacy Trail is a great place for all. Bikers, joggers, walkers all can enjoy this well maintained trail. The path is plenty wide so you don't have to feel like your going to get run over by the bikers. There are not a lot...More

We love the Legacy Trail. It goes straight from Sarasota to Venice. Very nice and flat and goes through a beautiful Nature reserve. It is ten miles long with markers every 1/20 of a mile. Never too crowded. The little train stops along the way...More

This trail is designed for both bikers and walkers, families and loners. It is well marked with plenty of parking alone the way. More miles than your typical walk but a good strong bike ride. Pet friendly, kid friendly and good for young and old....More

I ride this trail on most Sundays. It is safe due to know motor vehicles on the trail. It is an old train track which has been converted to a bike trail.

This trail is practically in our back yard, so we ride it often - starting most of the time from Central Sarasota Parkway. We have ridden it as far south as you can go, and as far north as you can go. And someday, it...More

Enjoy this whether riding or walking. Lots of different places to pick up the trail giving different views ie housing, nature. Good place to spot birds.

We always take the trail from Venice to Sarasota when we are there in December. Lots of scenic places to stop, and can catch glimpses of wilde life. Once a bobcat crossed the trail in front of us

I wish there was more water available along the trail and wheelchair/handcycle friendly too. Some of the road crossings are a little dangerous and some people do not follow trail etiquette either. This past spring I reported a motorized biker blowing down the trail several...More

Yes... Go to Real Bikes in Venice... in the Bird Bay Mall on the west side of US-41 near the north end of Venice. You can access the Legacy Trail right from their shop. You can park in front or behind their shop.
