If you consider this "pack a lunch"

My friends and I have talked about doing this canoe run for years as we live under an hour away in Daytona Beach. We decided Saturday 7/16/2016 was the day. We got up early and... read more

For a tandum kayak this takes a little more than novice skill, but it is worth every minute. GORGEOUS. Plan to take your time and just enjoy. I would not go on a weekend, it can get crowded.

NOT for beginners. There are a lot of trees down and a current, so sometime it is challenging. It is well kept.

My husband and I canoed here a few weeks ago. You must take a class before you can go on the water. Bring reusable containers as throw away containers/coolers are not allowed on the run. There are many twist, turns and low laying trees on the 7.3 miles run, you should be an experienced canoer/kayaker. We saw alligators, turtles and... More

My friends and I have talked about doing this canoe run for years as we live under an hour away in Daytona Beach. We decided Saturday 7/16/2016 was the day. We got up early and went and filled out the paper work to rent the canoe. The staff warns you that this is NOT for BEGINNERS. I kayak all the... More

After reading the reviews on this run, I was VERY hesitant. My boyfriend and I have kayaked a few times before, but nothing serious. I was mainly nervous about the wildlife, but also a little concerned that it would be too difficult of a paddle. After checking in and completing the safety course, you load your kayak (or canoe) into... More

My family decided to go to the canoe run. The ranger told us if we were experienced canoe people and we responded "Of course how hard can it be?" I was a bit scared at first, but at the beginning of the view was amazing! Beautiful! Until me and my mom heard a large animal stomping on the sides where... More

I would give this a five but on the three different times I've gone down the stream, it just hasn't got the diversity of wildlife that some other rivers have. I love that it's crystal clear, that palms are growing right over the stream and that it's challenging. We took a canoe and it was fine. The guy who picked... More

I have been canoeing/kayaking down this 7 mile stretch since I was 6 years old and it is still one of my favorites. The first 4 miles are all under canopy and you do have some trees to sort through but the scenery will take your mind off of any obstacle. The second half of your trip is sawgrass and... More

Clear water & great scenery Juniper Springs is a great paddle. That said there is a few things that could make your first paddle board trip more enjoyable. It is shallow in spots with logs/limbs just under the surface in places. A issue if you have a 10" fin on your board. Made for a 4 1/2 hour trip our... More

This is a nice paddle down river through the Ocala National Forest. It is not a relaxing put your feet up paddle! Lots of narrow areas and tight twists and turns. I wouldn't bring a first timer down here they will be in the brush all the way down. But, that being said, we did see lots of wild life,some... More
