Interesting History of Ybor City

This is small museum, but well worth the visit and the $4 admission price. The museum is housed in an old bakery and still has the massive ovens for you to view. Interesting to... read more

A Docent guided tour of a casita house is part of your entrance ticket to the main museum. These houses have been moved here from their original locations and sympathetically refurbished. The majority of items within the house have been donated by families of original immigrants. At the rear of the house is an outside "rest room", small vegetable garden... More

Totally enjoyed this museum. There is a video, a guided tour of the restored home and self guided tour of the museum in a former bakery. The history you learn is fascinating. The cost $4.00 is very reasonable. Our guide did a wonderful job of telling the story of early life in Ybor City and answered our questions - going... More

This is small museum, but well worth the visit and the $4 admission price. The museum is housed in an old bakery and still has the massive ovens for you to view. Interesting to know the history and the connections that the founders of Ybor had to famous men like Rockefeller. I suggest taking the Cigar Factory Tour with Wally.... More

The ranger told us it would only take us 15 to 20 minutes and he was right. It is only $4 a person. We are glad we stopped.

We visited the museum first, which has a lot of interesting information about the cigar industry in Tampa. It is mostly just reading and general displays in the museum but we enjoy history so it was good for the $4 price. When we arrived, we were told by the ranger to notify her that we were ready for the casita... More

Tour preserved "shot-gun" dwellings of immigrants who came to work the tobacco trade. Many unique insights into customs and community life. Interesting tour for both children and adults.

See how immigrants lived years ago! Cute, small, compact houses. Nice little tour, very informative for all, including children and teenagers. There is a nail outside the front door of each house - find out why! How did the iceman know you needed ice? If you have family visiting Tampa, bring them here! (You can also tour the museum next...
