Water taxi was fun!

Loved this alternate way to get to dinner! Very cool captain, great music and great way to see Tampa.

Great adventure option to go Kayaking or Canoing on the Hillsborough river and specially in November time frame you will see a lot of Alligators which makes your trip unforgetable! You get the feeling that you are alone in a Jungle!

It has taken a long time but downtown Tampa's Riverwalk is almost completed ... the section under the Kennedy Bridge and behind the two hotels is the major area to finish. The use of informative signs, good maps, and statues of Tampa's pioneers give the walkway more significance. Going under the Platt Street Bridge and Crosstown is an interesting experience... More

This is well worth the drive to go over and canoe down the river and back. You can take a nice slow pace and see all kinds of wildlife. The trees give you a good amount of shade and there are plenty of picnic tables for a picnic before and after. The staff that handles the rentals and the cafe... More

Part of the charm is that it is hard to find this remote place even though it is so close to Tampa. The Hillsborough River which takes its name from the county or vice versa is a wonderful wilderness experience. You will meet the friendly staff at Canoe Escapes outpost at the John B Sargeant Park on Hwy 331 just East of... I have only visited the urban section of the Hillsborough River so cannot comment on the more rural parts. The walk is particularly recommended early or late in the day because the intense sunlight reflected off the white stone and concrete surfaces can heat up the entire experience at other times. You can choose among elevated views of the historic... More

This river has many access points available so research what you want to do and find the appropriate type of access. Fishing, water skiing, Nature watching, PWC or canoe/kayak. There are no wake zones and Non motorized craft sections depending on where you put in. There are also dams and weirs so plan your activity accordingly.

Very big park but it's very well label so you won't get lost. It has a place for everything you an do outside. There a place to ride canoes, trails for hiking or mountain bike, walking trails, picnic tables, even areas to walk with your dog.

We went to the Hillsborough River Park. We were thinking of canoeing, but decided to hike instead. The paths are really well-marked, so you don't really need much of a map. The 3.2 loop was pretty muddy, and we saw a lot of lizards. We didn't expect too much, but were treated to seeing a huge (10 foot?) alligator in... More
