Very large, long suspension bridges represent the best of modern construction engineering, and the Sunshine Skyway is among the best of the best. Spanning the mouth of Tampa Bay, it is a magnificent statement about the modernity and progressiveness of the Tampa Bay area. If you have a choice between travelling down I-75 to the east of the bay and... More

Not good for you if you suffer from heights, but well worth the drive. There is a toll to cross the bridge

Not sure it's really an attraction or not, but it is big and beautiful to see. We crossed it several times recently and even saw a cruise ship going under it. There are rest areas to stop and picnic. There is also fishing piers that seem to be quite popular. Be aware there is a $1.25 toll to cross.

It's always a pleasure to drive across this Bridge. Great sights in the distance. We always enjoyed this Bridge when we drove from TPA to Sarasota. Now that my Dad has passed away there is no longer a reason to come here.

Although it is a pretty neat sight from a distance, it is still only a bridge. Clearly not worth a visit without other plans. Toll was $1.25 each way.

Definitely worth a trip over this bridge. Only a small toll fee but the experience of being so high is definitely worth it.

This isn't really an attraction. This is a bridge connecting to pieces of land in the Gulf. It does have a history. The previous one was destroyed when it was hit by a tanker. The old parts of the bridge still remaining are used for fishing piers and very popular and busy. By the North end there are always wind... More

We went over the Skyway Bridge on our way to and from St Pete. Was impressed that they have turnoffs for fishing and wind surfing and other water activities.

I love going over this bridge! The view of the cables and the Tampa Bay beneath you is surreal! There was never traffic. People were courteous drivers.

I crossed this bridge 2 or 3 times going from Tampa to Orlando. Amazing architecture and nice experience to go through. While driving, you notice that the bridge is going so high, but it is a safe and smooth ride :)
