Rode this bridge on a Harley! Great ride! Can get a bit windy, but lots of fun. Several scenic stops, fishing piers, rest area with nice restrooms. Only $1.50 toll each way.

The first time we drove over this bridge, my son was asleep. On the return trip to the airport he was awake and asked where we were going. It took a minute to remember he hadn't seen the bridge before. Once I remembered, I felt...More

Even though we have driven over this bridge from the airport dozens of times over the years, it still grabs us as we ascend and then gape at the view on the way down. Great value at $1.50. The waterfront parking lots are good to...More

Theis bridge is one of the most beautiful and highest bridges I have come to appreciate. It connects Tampa/St. Petersburg to Bradenton/Sarasota and provides and alternate to I-75. There is a $2 toll and although it only has 2 lanes in both directions, it can...More

Love the view! The road is smooth not a lot of pot holes. Lanes are wide. This is a toll bridge. You can pull off each side and fish or wade in the water and there are bathrooms on each side as well.

Connects the outer edge of Tampa to points south-avoiding downtown traffic. Two good fishing/sightseeing piers which I am told is the old bridge

The sky way bridge is very interesting to say the least. Not sure what they are doing to the North rest area but if you have to go stop at the South one. The bridge always gives a creepy feeling that if you had a...More

Was at the North Rest Area in the Tampa Bay side and saw Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Seas about to go under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and then did.

I like making the trip even with the toll. On a clear day.you can see for miles. Fishing from the old bridge is also fun.

The best way to see this bridge is to get off at the rest stops or the Northand South Fishing Piers. Cruise ships and cargo boats regularly pass under it. Make sure you check traffic and weather. High winds can close it.

No worries - just go the opposite way - go north on I-275 from St Pete beach, merge on to I-4 east in Tampa and then I-75 south. Then you can drive down toward Sarasota and connect west over toward it wherever you'd like... More
