Lonnie is a great tour guide. He made the walking tour interesting and fun. It is not an exhausting walking tour with lots of stop. The area is truly magnificent! I fell in love with Ybor City and all the interesting and quaint shops, restaurants and bars. And it made it even more so that Lonnie had given us the... More

Enjoyed every minute - Lonnie was a very knowledgable guide & the time flew by as he told the fascinating story of this historic gem. We went with a group of friends & didn't really know what to expect but came away with a true appreciation of the area. My favorite part was hearing about the lecturer who read to... More

Max gave us a fantastic overview of the history and culture of Ybor City from the late 1890's to the present. The pace of the tour was easy to walk and he answered any queries we had as to the cigar industry, the development of the city under Mr. Ybor's vision. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting... More

Max was young but knew what he was talking about. A native of the area and local Ybor historian. He painted a nice picture with his stories. I would actually do it again.

Max was our guide for our walking tour of Ybor City - he was a great story teller, dressed the part with a fedora, cuban-style shirt - very entertaining! We walked at a leisurely pace, and Max felt totally at ease telling stories of the area. I highly recommend the tour.

We and our close friends took the walking tour today of historic Ybor City with our guide, Charlie. I was not really expecting too much, however, I was pleasantly surprised about how informative and educational this tour really was ... Charlie explained the history of Ybor City, from its beginnings to present day, and it was really, really interesting. I would... More

If you find yourself in Ybor City with about 2 hours to fill I couldn't recommend this tour more!!!! Our guide Lonnie Herman made the amazing history of this little gem of a City come to life while we strolled the historic district. Amazing amount of Information about the many groups of immigrants, Cubans, Italians, Germans, Romanians, etc. who built... More

This is one of the best walking tours we've ever done. Tampa is not a place I associate with either history or walking, but at one point it was one of the most important cities in the country because of cigars, and Lonnie has a deep and broad understanding of how it all went down. He's a brilliant storyteller but... More

My wife and I were extremely pleased with this walking tour of Ybor City (part of Tampa, FL). We had been walking around the area and learned some information but this tour gave us the history, the sites to see and many other interesting tidbits that we would have never known without taking this tour. It was 90+ minutes of... More

We travel a lot and enjoy learning about new places. When we saw the Ybor City Historic Walking Tour, we tossed the idea around with some friends, and decided to shovel out the $20 per person fee and chalk it up to getting some exercise. WOW were we wrong about it being mediocre. Lonnie Herman, our guide, was AWESOME. He... More
