If you are in the 20-40 something range, the best place to dance, have drinks, or just people watch the beautiful people - then you must head to the Soho area. Soho spans a couple of blocks in all directions from Swann and Howard Ave. This strip of bars is filled with various watering holes ranging from the upscale clubs/lounges to your neighborhood hangout bar. There is truly something here for everyone, and often you will find the 2 groups mixed together in one of the numerous bars upon the strip. This is the place that the locals hangout, so if you want to truly experience Tampa nightlife. You must visit Soho. You could also head over to Channelside, which is only a 5 minute taxi ride. Although there are fewer bars there, it can still be fun for a change of pace.

If you want to go shopping for leather goods and presents for the family, this is a great place to visit. We stayed at the Reef Oasis blue bay and could book a free courtesy bus with the concierge. You must visit here as it is a very clean safe enviroment to have a meal, Queen Vic pub £5 for fish and chips. Drinks are expensive though but the beautiful surroundings make the price worth it. There are also park areas for children and fountains that dance to a selection of music with coloured lights, well worth videoing. The best thing though is , unlike naama bay, you will not get hassled by egyptian sellers. They invite you into their shops with no obligation to buy. If you do want to purchase from them it is well worth a haggle. I bought a leather bag which was supposed to be equivalent of £30, for £25. Very good quality leathertoo!

This place is so big you can get lost in here! Everything from terracotta pots, furniture, frames, home decor, floral-- they make Michael's look a little contrived. Got to check it out if your a crafter or decorator!

SoHO (acronym for SOUTH HOWARD AVE.) is an eclectic area. It's old town Tampa with art shops, coffee cafe's, kraft beer places. Loads of restaurants. It's all within the Hyde Park historical area of Tampa.

Best area in Tampa to go bar-hopping and check out some of the best food places too. Parking is a nightmare, so be prepared to walk to your location.

Name derives from South Howard...extends to the bay. Some housing. Varied restaurants from High Chinese to a world recognized old fashioned steak house. Lots of brunch options. Some establishments offer on premise parking. New marriott connected speciality hotel.

Plenty of bars to choose from. Always a busy environment. It's a good time for a night out. Parking is tough, you will probably need to valet, but it's not expensive. It is always crowded so be ready to wait in some lines. But usually worth it.

This isn't a hidden gem. It's a discarded old gem full of d bags. Cops sit at bars at 3am and hand out duis for not being being drunk bc you smell like alcohol. The crowd has no manners. The reviews of soho saloon are abhorrent and that guy owns multiple bars in the area.
