Beautiful building

Love the history here and it's great that it's still being used for trains. I've gone to Miami a couple of times and it's a good starting point.

My mother has traveled to and from this train station a few times and I picked her up and had the pleasure of viewing this building. This historic building is an architecture lovers dream, beautiful building and it is very well kept for a 100+ year old property. The location is very convenient for locals and tourists.

This station location is 5 stars when taking a cruise vacation from the port of Tampa. Once we arrived here we made a left on Twiggs Street, walked straight toward Channelside Drive and took the Line Streetcar "Trolley" at station 5. Depending on the cruise terminal you might want to get off on station 6 or 7. Below you will... More

Have realistic exoectations and you will enjoy this. It costs nothing to go into the building and sending 20 to 30 minutes inside is wonderful. This is an historic building which serves as the Amtrak Station for Tampa. Do not expect to be entertained - there are no "bells and whistles". The building is clean, very clean for an Amtrak... I visited this station twice during my rail journey from Pennsylvania to Florida for vacation. The station itself is a beautiful old building, but it doesn't have much to offer. The only food is a snack machine. The surrounding area seems to be a bit shady. On arrival, the staff was very friendly and efficient. We had to claim our... More

This building needs many repairs and is in the bad part lf tampa. The painting has faded away on the interior and exterior this piece of history is located probably less than 30 feet from a highway ramp. It currently oy services for Amtrak which is never on time. I will never come here again.

FriendsofTUS, Manager at Tampa Union Station, responded to this review

As a Board member and volunteer with Friends of Tampa Union Station, it's always disappointing to read a negative review about our historic station. The 1912-built Tampa Union Station received a $4 million restoration in 1998 through the work largely of many community volunteers and a handful of dedicated professionals who gathered grant funds from many sources to prevent the... Nice building but we use it for train travel. Have dropped friends and family off to travel a number of places. Friendly employees who think safety first. No set rules on picking up your luggage after a trip. This station does not sit in the best of areas. Traveling by train is an adventure. Wonderful trip to and from North... More

I will start by saying as a historical structure I loved the details of the inside and outside of this station. As you sit inside on the wooden benches, you feel as though as you are transported back to the 30s or the 40s. Historical I love all the details! As far as the amenities go, considering it is a... Tampa Union Station is a wonderful place to visit, even if you're not taking the train! The station, located on Nebraska Avenue at Twiggs Street in Downtown Tampa, was built in 1912 as the city's main passenger rail station. Over 100 years later, it still serves that purpose well--particularly after an extensive restoration in the late 1990s. Designed in Italian... More
