I had very high expectations for the show I was completely disappointed from the food to the actors. I booked this for a private work event- almost 100 people. Very difficult to work with. The salads where on the table when we arrived, not cold- two tables had issues with cockroaches on the table and no one working there seemed to care at all. There were appetizers which they never told us about. Apparently there was egg rolls, they never made it to our table. Free ice tea which I hunted down because when I asked for some I never got any. The show just dragged on and on and on even went 45 minutes over. Under cooked food, under staffed waitstaff, poor acting and they kept bringing up about the envelope on the table for tips. There’s a QR code on the table that you’re supposed to use your phone to get different tips, and information on the suspects, you’re also supposed to send them your email address so they know who is participating and so they could tell you who the winner is once the killer is known/ found out. You also had to fill out information on the party at your table which had nothing to do with the show whatsoever so why did I waste my time asking people at the table questions? The entire thing just seemed completely unorganized… asking guest to participate when they clearly want nothing to do with the show. Save your time and don’t waste your money. They advertise at $63.99 but don’t forget about all the additional taxes and fees that are associated. Way over priced for this show and dinner! I could go on and on but I think you get the point…and they blame most of this on Hilton since this is where the show is being held. BUT you are there for the show and your money goes to the show so Hilton will not take ANY responsibility. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOW!!!

I got this as a gift for my daughter and son in law. Everything was so absolutely perfect. From the food (they are vegan) to the show. My son in law was a “suspect” and he had a blast being able to participate. Every detail was taken care of and they had such a great time. They are in their mid 20’s and thoroughly enjoyed the show, the food, the atmosphere. What a wonderful way to spend an evening. Thank you all for such a fantastic time! We will absolutely do this again! 5 stars isn’t enough. Should be 10!

The show was entertaining enough, but the meal was so disappointing that it really brought down the experience. For the price the food should definitely have been much better. The consensus at my table was that the chicken was acceptable, the beef was fine, and the veggie lasagna, although not discernible as a typical lasagna because it was white (not red), was edible, but I noticed most people did not finish it. I was the problem child, having pre-ordered the vegan option. First, the server came to the table calling out, "vegan?", and she brought me the veggie lasagna. I waited until another person served at the table got their lasagna and noticed ours were identical. I told the server I had the vegan entree, and she took mine away. She came out later to tell me my dinner was still being made?!?! Finally after everyone at the table was finished with their entrees, I got mine. I'm not exaggerating, it was a bed of white rice with Chinese-style stir fry veggies on top, and unappetizing too! It was insulting that the cook (definitely NOT a chef) thought that was an acceptable vegan option for a dinner theater experience that costs $65 a ticket. Of course I complained, and the Detective staff explained the food from the hotel kitchen is separate from them. The hotel did not want to acknowledge the poor quality of food and did not agree to refund my ticket. Fortunately I had taken a picture of my entree, and when I sent the Detective staff the picture and they could see what the kitchen served, they took pity on me and refunded half of my ticket. I've attached a picture of my entree.

I checked out The Dinner Detective for the second time this summer and found they were doing a new story line. I won't give it away but the killer was a complete surprise to most people. One person did fill out her answer sheet correctly and won a prize of over $100 worth of gift items and Dinner Detective swag.

I had been to other mystery dinner nights and thought they were kind of contrived. The costumes and the actors really felt forced and staged. With The Dinner Detective, the actors are embedded right in with the crowd and they're dressed like everyone else and eat dinner with you. Everyone wears a jokey name tag of your own choosing so you don't really know who's who.

The show starts out with a person who just got stabbed rushing into the room screaming and flopping down on the floor in the center of the room. With the bloody shirt and knife sticking out of their stomach, it looks realistic.

You know it's all fun and games when the person lying there notices they're not properly situated in the chalk mark outline of the body and scooches over into the outline. Then two "detectives" rush in with guns drawn and yelling at everyone to put their hands up and leads the crowd in a rap song. They're really the stars of the show. It's a nice way to keep an otherwise gory story light.

You have your choice of 4 entrees including, beef, chicken, fish or vegetarian. I liked the beef enough to order it this second time. The meal is accompanied by appetizers, salad and dessert. There is a reasonably priced cash bar on hand the entire show.

Definitely worth the ticket price and I understand some people used Groupon for discounts.

I'll be back with some friends.

We were so looking forward to this event and we were SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!! When we first arrived at the hotel we were told check in for this event started at 6pm and that did not happen until 6:50pm. When check in did start, one woman was trying to check in approximately 70 people for a show that was supposed to start at 7pm and end at 9pm. Neither of those two times were accurate. The food was not good enough and the show was embarrassingly slow and not amusing enough to pay $130 a couple and it was a cash bar. We spent a lot of money and we didn't get out of there until 10:50pm. When you put on your website till 9pm and you go almost 2 hours over on a week night, that's a problem!! Shame on the entire event and the Hilton Hotel for letting this happen on their premises.

Hello Mary, We are very sorry you did not have a wonderful experience and received inaccurate information. Our Saturday night shows start at 6:00pm-9:00pm. Tuesday shows start at 7:00pm-10:00 pm to give guest working that day extra time for travel. The front desk, who is not affiliated with the show, made an error. Correct show time is printed on all tickets. Regardless, we are very regretful your experience was not outstanding, please accept our apologies. -Chris Executive Producer

I booked a mother/daughter weekend to Tarpon Springs for Mother's Day 2023 and booked a reservation to participate in the Dinner Detective, Tampa, FL. After a morning of exploring the sponge docks and spending the afternoon participating in a scavenger hunt to more thoroughly explore the area we wrapped up the excursion as dinner sleuths. My daughter and son-in-law traveled over from Orlando to join us and we all had a blast. My mom had difficulty hearing the hostess providing instructions and we were a little lost on what type of questions to ask, but had a fantastic time. Would recommend this as a fun and off-the-beaten path activity.

Food and Acting was not very good
The plot made no sense
Main reason for review - they off you a "free" shot glass if you show them a 5 Star rating
Also, at end of show in order to guess who doneit and win a prize you have to go on you phone and give a rating. This is a joke and very bad business practice

I would give the show 4 stars, but the nursing home food they served for dinner was terrible. $65 per person and you can't even season the vegetables? Chicken was rubber and salmon dry. Top five worst meals of my adult life. I would not go back.

The show was spectator. The cast and staff did a great job of keeping the plot moving. It was really difficult to pick out the actors hidden at a variety of tables.
I highly recommend that you bring a group of 6-8 and ask at sign in that couples be placed a different tables. You get to pick your own character name, I chose “Fruit Cake” everyone after that is addressed by their name tags. There is a distinct possibility that YOU or someone at you table will be chosen as an involved player and may have to answer some personal questions. You have numerous clues that assist you in finding the murderer.

They have “Mug Shot Photos’ available to purchase with your credit card.
We attended (28 Jan 18) the one at the Airport Hilton and it was a CASH ONLY BAR.

We found the food to be LESS then acceptable the chicken was almost impossible to cut with a knife much less chew and the beef was overdone and tough, mixed vegetables were over cooked, mashed potatoes were watery. Cheese cake was standard restaurant fare, service was good.
