More
As a part of the FKWBC, the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary is home to over one hundred non-releasable, permanent bird residents as well as wild birds including hawks, owls, vultures, pelicans, terns, gulls, herons, spoonbills, and many more. Visitors are invited to learn about our birds and the fragile ecosystems of the Florida Keys. The Sanctuary is open to the public from sun-rise to sun-set. Admission is free, but donations to help the FKWBC to continue to fulfill our mission are gladly accepted. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native and migratory wild birds that have been harmed or displaced, to provide or locate a humane shelter for those birds that cannot be released, and to educate the public toward the importance of coexistence with all wild bird species. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center is a 501(C)(3) Charitable Organization.

We visited the Wild Bird Sanctuary on Tuesday, and absolutely loved it. Seeing these special birds up close in good enclosures similar to their natural habitats was wonderful. And the stories of each bird was so impressive. Many of them would not be here today...More

We really enjoyed our visit to Wild Bird Rehab. The cages are large and encompass the surrounding trees and bushes into the enclosures. I liked how the land that the center is in is very natural old Florida. The boardwalk ends at a natural beach...More

The birds had plenty of space, food, water, and interactive components to their enclosures. I didn't have a chance to interact with the staff, but it was a nice place. There were some wild birds hanging around, too, either hoping for food or for some...More

Start at the Hospital and read all about the birds, then go to the rehabilitation center. All the birds there cannot be let back into the wild because of injuries, but they are beautiful - owls, pelicans, ibises, herons, and more. It's free, but they...More

Short walking tour around a number of cages, both large and small, where the birds are being cared for. This is a well-maintained rehab facility and it is obvious the staff really cares about the inhabitants.

So happy a place like this exists. They do a fantastic job housing birds that can never return to the wild.
