Lots of history around this place, a peek into Old Florida. We did not stay at the lodge, but the public areas are worth a look -- impressive woodwork and elegant furnishings. Lots of people swimming, although it was a little cool for us. There's a large bath house, a gift shop, and a snack bar where we stopped for... More

We stayed easter weekend at the lodge of Wakulla Spring and the super friendly staff recommended us to take the boat ride out. Wow what a blast saw tons of alligators turtles and lots of beautiful birds.

I volunteered to help chaperone the class of 15 students. We arrived early and visited the gift shop. Our large group did not seem to bother the woman working behind the counter and she was very helpful. Then the group went on the boat ride and enjoyed seeing alligators and snakes and birds. No manatees though! The boat captain was... More

Because if you were here 20-30 years ago, you will be heartsick at what the growth and pollution from the Tallahassee area has done to this once beautiful spring. It is now dirty and has little visibility. I can recall the glass bottom boat tours where you could look down over 130 feet at the sheer cliffs and white sands... More

We spent a day at Wakulla Springs State Park in January. We arrived early enough to get the second boat trip of the morning. Best time to go because all the turtles, and alligators are out sunning themselves and the birds are out feeding. We spent the day here enjoying the lobby in the lodge, the restaurant, the hiking trails... More

The spring is bordered by open cypress wetlands and large hardwoods. Fine dining can be had at the lodge. Dog friendly- (but not on the beach).

Being middle of March only two boats were taking tourist on the 'lake' due to lack of numbers. But have at least 12+ available for peak season. The guide was very thorough in explaining the history of the Park, pointing out the two groups of 4-5 Mantees, turtles, alligators, and specific birds. . that are returning for the summer and their...
