MCarthy's was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Our guide Kara was terrific. The animals were spectacular, from the tigers and macaws, to the turtles and Lemurs. Even the snakes were fascinating. McCarthy's is a gift to helping preserve our precious wildlife.

I visited this beautiful place yesterday and i must admit, ive been in Florida on vacation for 2 weeks and this is BY FAR the BEST thing ive done. Our tour guide, Kara was extremely knowledgeable and fun. You could tell she truly loved her job and the animals she got to work with. The tour was only $35 and... More

We came to McCarthy's for an afternoon tour with our daughter and two grandchildren, ages 12 and 9. Besides being thoroughly entertained by seeing and, in a few cases, interacting with the animals they have saved, we were all moved by the stories behind each and every one of them. Clearly, they are treated very well, and it is heart... More

I visited the sanctuary on Feb. 2, 2017. My companions and I thoroughly enjoyed observing and learning about all the animals that are cared for there. Brie was our guide, and I can't say enough positive things about her. She is enthusiastic, brilliant, and kind. One of my friends is a wheelchair user, and Brie made every effort to be... More

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of the different animals and interacting with them too. The facility is immaculately kept and the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. The animals were all happy too. Will definitely visit again.

Best thing about McCarthys was the guided tour by Kara. She had information and a story about each of the animals. Birds, turtles, snakes, big cats. Except for the big cats, you could handle them all if you chose to. Great for kids. Tour is about 2 hours, and you have to call ahead for a spot.

We chose this attraction rather than the zoo as it appeared it would be more informative and intimate. We made the right decision! Cara was our guide through the sanctuary and her connection with the animals was amazing. Watching the exotic birds compete for her attention was amusing. Seeing her feed a tiger and watch it stand to its full... More

Second visit was as remarkable as the first. No where else can you really see and hear and be part of a magical look at these magnificent animals that McCarthy tends to with such care. Our guide Kara has a relationship and rapport that is clear to see as she scratches the tiger's ears and engages with all the big... More
