Great haven for exotic species that should have never been pets in the first place. Many are endangered species. McCarthy's provides a home while offering tours to educate people not to get certain animals as pets. This is a fun and interesting way to spend a few hours. Occasionally they have cubs which people can interact with for an extra... More

This tour was awesome, not to be missed! The Sanctuary is extraordinarily clean, well cared for and intimate. The guide was knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his animals, birds, snakes et al. Picture taking was encouraged. We even got to hold some of the animals. The gift shop at the end was also great. I bought 2 high quality owl... More

Small lovely place, great to observe animals. The walk is not long so it is ok to go with small children.

The sanctuary is a wonderful place where the workers take good care of animals around the world into their own enclosure. The tour was great, became very educated about different types of animals.

My family - 2 parents, 2 children in college and one boyfriend recently graduated from college visited McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary last week. Although the property is small - told it was 5 acres, they have done a fabulous job of fitting a lot into a small space and really loving the animals to keep them healthy and happy. I have... More

I went there with my friends in November 2016. I am against visiting zoos, so I was looking for a sanctuary for rescued animals and I found this place! And I am so glad I did! The animals there are very loved. The staff is great and tells you the back stories to all the animals and the situations they... More

I was appalled by the conditions I found at this sanctuary. Adult (large) tigers and lions were in cages not much larger than my living room with no room to roam. There was no attempt to replicate their natural habitat! Poisonous snakes were in containers not much larger than a shoebox. I certainly could never recommend a visit to this... More

I was down in WPB visiting family for the holiday and decided to check this place out. It was a great idea. Manny did a fantastic job telling us about the animals and their history, and he was entertaining too. The tour was two hours long, so make sure you allow plenty of time.
