The Columbus Riverwalk is one of my favorite places in Columbus, Ga! I love walking, running, and biking by the river. It's a beautiful place for pictures and I always take my visitors there. There's also a nice, newly built park that is perfect for all ages. There's also a splash pad at the park that's turned on during the... More

This was just a last minute decision before my son had to return to Ft. Benning after his graduation and we were surprised. I never expected to see "rapids" in southern Georgia in the middle of small town/city. There is an area where you can walk out to small island and get a close-up look at the Chattahoochee River. There... More

Nothing better than a walk along the river... Kudos to Columbus for being so forward thinking with the condo/apt/office/shops using all the old Mill buildings along the river. Beautiful use of historic buildings. Great park and water features for kids. Great for jogging or strolling. Fun watching the folks on the water...kayaks. I think there might even be a zip... More

I've been to Columbus many times over the last 50+ years. In recent years, the city has renewed its downtown, riverfront, and even the Chattahoochee River itself. There is plenty to see, do, and eat along this walk.

Beautiful day enjoying our awesome city. We had time to just ramble before an appointment and didn't want to go across town home and back again so we parked downtown and walked a good two miles. Scenery was gorgous as you can tell by looking at our photos!

This Riverwalk is so peaceful and unique. It sits right in the heart of Columbus State University but you don't feel like you are on campus. You can walk or bike along the huge sidewalks. There are open areas to picnic or enjoy time with your dog. A few blocks up there are great restaurants and local shops. You could... More

There is a small island you can access. Always good to walk next to the water and hearing the sound of flowing water. Very relaxing.

The dams were removed from the river a few years ago and now the water moves quickly. The view is spectacular. White water rafting and zip lining are available, as well as space for long strolls. The mills have been renovated to housing and restaurants. It's a fabulous place to be.

The signage could be better. Our on-star directed us to a spot near by but we couldn't find any parking close to the walk. It may have been our fault (I am somewhat handicapped) but it was disappointing not to see the river up close. That said, the neighborhood is reinventing itself and is pretty great with lots of food... More
