I have lived in the area for three years and discovered Sawnee Mountain with the first few months of moving. The main loop is about four miles and very worn, so you will never feel like you have gotten off of the trail. The main...More

Take the walk uphill and you will be rewarded by breathtaking views. The tree house, koi pond add to the attraction. The sheer natural beauty of the place makes it worth the effort. The hike is a level 3 on a scale of 1 to...More

Definitely worth the hike to the top of the mountain as the view is beautiful. Once you get there, sit on the rocks and enjoy it.

My wife and I love hiking/walking here, it's a peaceful and easy hike, real nice views and lots of shade. We really enjoy the fact that no pets are allowed especially dogs which can be a nuisance of several categories. It really is nice to...More

Great spot to get a nice short hike in. Trail is shady by trees so it the temperature was nice even with the hot weather. Pretty lookout spot at the top.

NO PETS ALLOWED, which is an absolutely ridiculous rule. What kind of people agree to rules like this? Way to ruin an experience.

I hate even writing this review and revealing my secret, but alas, I must. There are 2 parts to the preserve. One is the trail that leads to the mountain itself, along with Indian Seats, etc. It's beautiful and heavily trafficked in nice weather. The...More

Just got done hiking the Sawnee Mountain Preserve and have done it many times before. It is a great few hours hike on a beautiful day. Just long enough and the view is beautiful at the top.

Hi. It is a hike to the view from the top. If you are going to do the walk, start from the parking lot on Tribble Gap Road, and not the visitor's center.
