What a great place to just sit out on a beautiful day and see life happening! I would strongly advise stopping by any of the cafes, snag a coffee and pull up a bench outside. It's a relaxing way to spend a few hours. You don't even realize the Marta subway is underneath your feet either. There is a really... More

Must see place for an evening night out. Great restaurants, pubs and safe place to walk in the evening. Be sure to stay at the Marriott Courtyard just a half block from the Square and the 60+ restaurants within easy walking distance.

Very nice area to walk in after a concert or after a meal. The square is very clean with no litter. At night it is particularly pretty with good lighting. The last time we strolled across the square it was December 23rd; no one bothered us and there was a police cruiser next to the square.

Walking tour of downtown Decatur. Enjoyed the combination of old and new. Don't miss old courthouse. Restaurants very good

I live here, so you're not going to get much of an impartial view from me. But we moved into Decatur (having lived nearby for years), because of the charm of the city. The selection of restaurants, shopping and great people is why we moved into town. And the fact that we can now walk here is the icing on... More

Has some nice bars and shops around the square - not a huge amount to see but enough to wander around for a hour or so

Located next to the Decatur MARTA station and old county courthouse, Decatur's Square is a real beehive of activity most days and nights. Concerts and just hanging out are the main activities. Restaurants are close by in large numbers. Many improvements have been made over the years in the fountains and seating.

You hop off of the metro and you're in the heart of the Dekatur square. Its a fairly small square you can walk around it in 15min. It's surrounded by some pubs and restaurants and a historical courthouse nearby. And that's about it, nothing else to see nearby. If you are a tourist, it's really far from the other tourist... Found this small town square to be adorable! It is filled with restaurants and some very eclectic shops like the Wild Oats and Billy Goats store which I couldn't get enough of! The square felt very homey and wish we had something like this near where we live in Massachusetts!

There are lots of places to eat. Some are good some not so good. Find someone local to ask which ones are best. The area doesn't not seem safe at night. Too many just wandering the streets
