I love this place! I stumbled across this wonderful place while in Ellijay. Since then, I've returned many times. The staff and owner are so kind. They really love their animals! I highly recommend this place to everyone!

I’ve been going to Elijay for years but somehow missed this place. It is amazing!! These ladies take great care of the animals and the visit is laid back and relaxing. They give you fresh fruit and veggies to feed the animals and you can roam, feed them and interact with them at your own pace. We’ll definitely be back!!

Tons of animals, great visit!
Feb. 2021
This place was awesome. There were so many different animals available to feed and pet. My two year old had a blast (and my husband and I did too)! It was very obvious that the owners really enjoy and rely on visitors to keep the place running. The admission included a huge basket of food for each guest. We got to see a baby goat be bottle fed. We also got to feed and pet horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, bunnies, cats, puppies, and more! This was probably my favorite thing we did in all of Ellijay. I will say that we visited on a day after lots of rain and the whole place was mud which we were not prepared for. I would definitely recommend wearing boots and be prepared to get DIRTY here. All that being said we still had the best time and would love to visit again.

Nice stopover visit!
Dec. 2020 • Family
We brought our family for a nice visit to Build an Ark Animal Rescue. All of us had a nice time. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. She provided as many snacks for the animals as we wanted. Her specific vocal command calls summoning her ducks to eat was so cute. She tried to get the sheep over but they were grazing so they yelled back to her that they were fine! The 47 year old white horse named Happy (I think) was so smart. He saw us and took his left foot and tapped the metal post to tell us that he was hungry! All the animals were very friendly. They even had some tiny little kittens! It was a nice stop and we spent about an hour... just the right amount of time.

A Hidden Gem
Dec. 2020 • Family
Wow! Incredible experience! My eight year old cried when we had to leave. Hands on experience like no other! A hidden gem and highlight of our trip. Wish we knew about this sooner. Definitely be back next year!

Please visit these ladies! The animals are so sweet and all rescues. We visited with pigs, llamas, horses, donkeys, goats and more! They had puppies and kittens for adoption. They only charge $7 per person and should be charging more. You get a huge bucket of fresh veggies and fruit for the animals. Please donate more, if you can. It costs so much to run a rescue and they work hard to keep this place running. We could have stayed all day!

Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly
Oct. 2020 • Couples
We arrived early and this was our first time. We were greeted by Susan who gave us our red bucket of food for 7 dollars and we fed every animal with all the food. There were goats, pigs, ducks, alpaca, horses, and donkeys. And then went back and got another bucket which was so much fun. There were puppies to pet and cats to pet as well. And there were rescued animals to. This place is wonderful. Nov 7th we found out will be a great day to come. With loads of activities. We were able to pet all the animals and watch families come and enjoy feeding the animals. Definitely want to go again soon. And ask to feed the decks. I had never fed ducks with seed before. It was crazy fun.

So much LOVE
Sep. 2020
Such a wonderful, happy place full of love! We loved our visits and went back 3 times in the week we were in Ellijay. We adopted 2 amazing puppies and loved feeding and playing with all the animals. The people who run the farm are so caring and truly love the animals. The farm is run by donations and volunteers so they need our support. We will now support Build an ark and try to visit every time we are in Ellijay.

Don’t think just go!

We went to Ellijay for an anniversary trip! We decided to go here and see what it was all about! This place is amazing! The ladies there are so friendly, they refill your baskets when you run out of food so really you can stay as long as you want! They encourage you to feed all of the animals! When we stopped by there they had puppies! I could have stayed there all day! Recommend for adults, children, all the animal lovers out there!!

100% Worth the Visit!
Sep. 2020 • Family
We went on our last day of vacation and I’m glad we did! This is like every kid and kid at hearts dream! To walk around with a bucket of food to feed the animals, pet and be up close was awesome. My kids love the duck food shovel and feeding the horses. The people were so friendly and the cause is so wonderful. The donation amount is minimal for what the experience is actually worth. We ended up donating a little extra because they allow you to reload your bucket as well and then it became double the fun!
